Now, to be real, not a gourmet meal, a modest establishment..BUT...the truest taste of Sicily. We stopped in for a taste of almond wine. The elderly proprietor served us a delicious serving. He inquired if we wanted to eat. We said yes and were pointed to a small set of stairs. Up we went, passing a tiny tiled well used kitchen. There is a patio with outstanding views, but we ate inside due to some rain. The kitchen was manned by the owner's wife. She took our order and went back to the kitchen to cook the pasta. We chose homemade pasta with ragu( red sauce, meat, peas). While we waited, the owner and his family pulled together two tables and also ate lunch. They had the same meal we ordered. Unpretentious and fun. We felt like we were eating in my nonni's house. Very reasonable cost, combined with taste and atmosphere made this the most memorable and favorite meal of the trip.
