Emerald Cove

As others have said, this is a great place to stay.

My wife & I have stayed there 4 or 5 times and Judy & Peter are still just as welcoming as the 1st time we went.

As a retired couple, we always visit outside of the school holidays, so we cannot comment for during the peak periods.

Emerald Cove has most things in its favour as it is a little oaisis of peace ,only a stones throw from the major shopping centre of the area.

Room Tip: The 'good rooms' depend on the size of your party! As a couple, we prefer chalet number 7...

We spend three nights at Emerald Cove during our visit to South Africa.
What a charming place and so homely with just the right amount of everything.
Judy managed to make us feel totally at home assisting with everything we needed and more. She was more than willing to make arrangements on our behalf with boating agents and gave us much appreciated tips and advice during our stay and whilst visiting the surrounding areas.

The place was clean and neat, a great plus point seeing some other coastal holiday places.
The unit was also very spacious and everything that one may need was present.

Another distinct plus point was the fact that the beach was a mere 2min walk from any unit with a private entrance / gate to the beach.

All in all, a great place to spend a holiday by the sea!

Staying at Emerald Cove for use was a surplus to our leave.
First of all, the lady of the house Judy is a fantastic woman. She looks after everyone and in case of problems, she solves them asap.
The cottages are clean, big, good equiped. Emerald cove is very central located. Big stores just around the corner and from there you can drive for a long time along the coast.
We wanted to braai and Judy made sure we had our own braai on our terrace.
We do recommend the place for sure.

Excellently run and maintained self-catering accommodation on the KwaZulu-Natal South Coast. Well-designed and efficiently equipped with all necessary items for a self-catering stay Emerald Cove is situated near grocery stores and super-markets, but for those choosing to eat out instead also near several restaurants. The chalets are attractively laid out and situated virtually on the beachfront with just an attractive barrier of tropical vegetation between the units and the beach. Rates are reasonable for the type and standard of accommodation. The management are most efficient and obliging and went out of their way to meet our requirements and ensure that our brief stay was a pleasant one.

Emerald Cove realy lived up to our family holiday expectations. The accommodation is attractive and well maintained and the easy access to the beach means you can come and go with ease. Judy is an attentive hostess who anticipated my children's needs and supplied us with local tips and insight. The cost of the stay was affordable and proved to be great value for money. I would certianly recommend this accommodation.

Where should I start ?
So much to say about this lovely Beach front paradise. Let's start with the service which is impeccable. Judy , the owner is warm, welcoming & very professional. She knows the area inside out & can recommend all kinds of activities to those who want to explore the area on foot, by car, air etc. Emerald Cove is ideally located to visit the region or just chill out at the beach. The beach is literally on your doorstep. No roads to cross, just walk out of the compound & the beach is yours. Peaceful out of season and busy with surfers & families in the high season.

The chalets : good size for those who come in a large group or cosy enough for those on their own. This is the 2nd time I stay at Emerald Cove & have no complaints , only compliments to make & recommend to all those who are looking for a very well run B&B / self catering venue on the coast to try for themselves. I hope to go back to South Africa next year & would not stay anywhere else on the South Coast.

Judy's organisational skills are beyond anything one can imagine, she organises airport transfers for those who need it, helps out with logistics in the area & pro active . + Never unpleasant which is a pleasure considering how unpleasant & rude some people can be in the hospitality business but none of that at Emerald Cove ...

I've been told that there will be more services added to Emerald Cove if there is a demand for activities such as surfing lessons, fitness training etc .... let's all keep an eye on this venue.
