went to the manor for a special occasion meal and was very disappointed with the atmosphere of the place. The restaurant area was more like a canteen than a hotel restaurant area with an outlook over a lawn area and a carpark.. The food was well cooked but a bit disappointing for the price and presentation. The main course came with salad instead of vegetables and the sweet was ice cream, as our choice, but 3 scoops in a dish was all it was, there was no attempt to make it more presentable. The service was very good and very friendly and an attempt to decorate the table for us was made, I have no complaints about the people there. Overall it was not the place I expected it to be.

What a shame the restaurant isn't open during the week BUT four of us had a bar meal and we couldn't fault the staff the food or the service. The areas of the hotel we saw were clean, the staff were very friendly and efficient, the wait for the food was reasonable, and the food itself was hot, the servings a fair size and the price was at the right level.

It' such a relief to find a seaside place that doesn't have pretensions, neither does it try and rip you off. Well done!

Called here one Tuesday evening whilst on holiday in the area. Did wonder whether the faded grandeur of the hotel would be reflected in the food, but the food was actually pretty good, and very good for the price charged. The restaurant wasn't open & we ate in the Terrace room, which is more of the style of a seaside chippy than a gastropub, but as I say the food was good, the price was right, and the ladies behind the bar friendly & helpful. Maybe not a massive recommendation for many trip advisor readers, but I have to say that the sausage & mash with onion gravy was very good indeed.

We and 4 others had a decent pub meal with generous portions. We shared very tasty garlic bread with cheese and side salad then I had the steak and ale pie (flavoursome but little cold) my partner had ribs and chips large portion size and again a little on the cold side. For the price decent pub fair but no more.
