“Most Magnificent Mango Bay!”
Reviewed 8 April 2012

We stayed at Mango Bay for ten nights (12 – 22 March 2012 inclusive) and we enjoyed an absolutely fabulous holiday at this marvellous hotel. It was definitely the right choice for us.

Mango Bay is welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. Friendliness greeted us the moment we arrived when we received a lovely cold rum punch, and this friendliness continued throughout our stay.

We very much appreciate all the care and efforts they’d gone to in order to ensure that we were comfortable and had all that we needed. As I use a wheelchair I had requested in advance a ground floor Oceanfront Room, extra pillows and a chair to use in the shower. Everything was there and they had even provided some steps to help me get into the shower, which I hadn’t asked for but that just shows how thoughtful they had been.

Our lovely room was number 312 (Lovesusa, you must have been in “our” room just before us and we liked it just as much as you did!), on the ground floor with a super terrace overlooking the boardwalk and then down onto the beach. It was wonderful to be so close to the ocean and to be able to hear the ocean in the early mornings. Room 312 is very roomy with plenty of shelves and storage space. We were kept very clean and tidy every day by our housekeeper – thank you so much, Pamela.

Each evening, while we were at dinner the turndown service arrived to organise our bed and leave a chocolate. At the same time, our room was sprayed with insect repellent. This seemed to do the trick as neither of us had a single bite, whereas usually we get several. We did also use the Repel repellent wipes from Boots The Chemist – the tropical strength ones with Deet.

Absolutely everyone was so friendly, as well as helpful beyond imagination. No sooner said than done! Certainly, Shireene, Candice and Hermione seemed to take extra good care of us when we needed help. (We did have some health issues necessitating Doctor GC to visit us twice, and also Nurse Rock to visit us every alternate day – thank you both).

The ambience of Mango Bay is one of peace and friendliness, from both the staff and the other guests. We met some lovely fellow guests and enjoyed chats with them at mealtimes. We relaxed, we read our kindles, and, of course, we enjoyed the Banks beer!

The restaurant was exceptional and we really enjoyed the very varied menus. The house wine was also excellent – really not worth the trouble of buying anything from the wine list. We thought the servers were incredible. They all worked together well as a team, again nothing was too much trouble and it was lovely to see their big smiles and happy faces.

Overall, Mango Bay and its staff made this one of the very best holidays we’ve had so far – actually, probably even the very best – and we will definitely visit again, now that we’ve found this fabulous hotel.

Our thanks to everyone.

On our last day we were asked to complete a questionnaire about our experience at Mango Bay. The final question requested that we name any member of staff who we felt was particularly good, but unfortunately there wasn’t enough space to name everyone so we said “everyone”. However, we’d like a chance to name them all now, although sadly this list can’t possibly be complete and we will surely be missing someone from it as we can’t remember, or didn’t catch, all the names.

Our first night was in the ROOM FROM HELL. We were kept awake all night by the awful "singing" from the night club across the road. If that is what you like, this is the place for you. Having asked in advance for a quiet room this was hell. The staff were sympathetic and we were moved. This would be a great place to stay if you want to party all night!

Room Tip: Ask for a beach view, it will be more expensive, but at least you will be further away from the NOIS...

WOW! where do I start, we had two weeks at mango bay and we could not fault a thing, from the fantastic service to the free watersports what an amazing place.
We stayed in a standard room and we had no complaints bed was really comfy and yes the street behind can be a little noisy buy hey guys your in the caribean, chill out and join in with the party, karokie and piano bay are a great night out, for all you bores out there take a chill pill man!
Big shout out to the resturaunt staff Tanya, Dionne and Sam to name a few, they were all really good, they exceeded our expectations. As a same sex couple we felt really welcome and comfy in the resort which we will be visiting again. food was really varied and always served with a smile, food was really good better than expected, if you dont fancy anything on the menu all you need to do is ask..

We learn,t to waterski while we were there Tyron the guy on watersports is really patient and takes you out when you want.. all the free trips are great well worth the money, thats if your up for it guys.

Entertainment was really good some nights more chilled and others were great. The Virgo girls are amazing we love them! keep it up girls.. the chef even came out out and sang a few songs.

Overall to some it up te staff at Mango bay make it special, they even had a bottle of champers on ice in our room on arrival, cheers guys..

This is a wonderful little hotel. We took out honeymoon there in July 2011 and we has a great experience. The hotel is intimate and quiet. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. The hotel quickly helped us organize any excursion we'd like. The meals at the restaurant were fresh and had a lot of variety each night. The hotel is also directly on the beach but it close enough to some interesting shops and nightlife if you are feeling adventerous.

Room Tip: We choose the deluxe ocean front room. It is really worth the upgrade price.

My husband and I have just come back from Mango Bay, in Holetown, Barbados. What a fabulous time we had. The staff were lovely nothing was too much trouble. Our room was a little tired around the edges but spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable.

The location is right on the beach and so peaceful to just chill and meet and chat to other guests of the hotel. Some of the entertainment was far superior than we expected, really amazing singing and the music was brilliant so like the original artists that it surprosed me. Some of the girl singers had such a wide range of voice styles. We would definaltely recommend this hotel to others for a lovely peaceful and friendly time.

Room Tip: The rooms stepping onto the beach are best.

This is a great all-inclusive resort with a nice pool and beach . The staff are friendly and the service and food are excellent . The restaurant insists on trousers for men in the evenings which is a little unnecessary and implies the hotel is more than it is - let people just relax !! The rooms are fine - nothing too over the top but ok by caribbean standards. Overall though very good particularly pre or post cruise.
