“Fabulous as always”
Reviewed 11 May 2013 for a stay in March 2013

This is the third year we have been lucky enough to stay at Beija Flor, and it did not disappoint. We had friends with us visiting Barbados for the first time and they were wowed by the villa and the island itself, we are all hoping to return again soon.
Sharon has such a well equipped villa it is easy and pleasurable to BBQ by the pool, make sure you visit the fish markets either at Mullins or Speightstown for the freshest fish imaginable and buy local salad produce in Speightstown too, so much cheaper than the supermarkets.
The garden at Beija Flor is delightful, lying in the pool watching the humming birds, seeing monkeys usually early in the mornings, or watching the egret visiting the pool, I wish I was there now!
Beija Flor is a ten minute walk to Heron Bay, a beautiful quiet beach, often we were they only people there. It is also an easy walk into Holetown, so while we choose to hire a car for the duration of our stay it is not essential.
The Tides restaurant in Holetown is superb, my husband celebrated a big birthday there complete with decorated table and cake courtesy of the restaurant, also highly recommended is Cariba a bit further down the coast. As ever, Zacchios beach bar and restaurant are a must for lunchtime drinks and snacks.
We would not hesitate to recommend Beija Flor and have done so on many occasions. It is the best villa we have stayed in, ideally suited for a family or six friends with three large bedroom suites, a fully equipped kitchen, and a lovely efficient maid for whom nothing is too much trouble. The same must be said for the property manager, Juliet, who is always at the end of the phone should you need her.
We will be returning, sooner rather than later I hope....

“Just perfect ... again”

3 weeks at Beija Flor this time and just as we imagined it would be. Sharon has a meticulous eye for detail, catering for our every need. The villa is pristine, perfectly situated for Holetown, the "private" beach by the Colony Club, so quiet it could have been ours alone, and Speightstown just up the coast which still retains the real Caribbean culture.
Just chilling by the pool is a wonderful way to laze away the days, but for local flavour try the Polo at Apes Hill, Sunday market at Holders Hill or Horse Racing at the Garrison Savannah, Bridegtown. All are very inexpensive ways to pass your days, and for excellent food and wonderful surroundings try "The Lonestar" restaurant and beach bar during the day at Zacchios.
As always our thanks to Julet and Franklin, Sharons' property managers on the island who are always at the end of the phone, also Angela the maid, very efficient and helpful.
For a totally stress free holiday on the most beautiful caribbean island you will not better Beija Flor, we will be back again for sure!

“Wonderful House, Great Location”
Reviewed 3 February 2012 for a stay in January 2012

My husband, our three grown sons and I spent a wonderful ten days at Villa Beija Flor. The house is, if anything, even nicer than it looks in the webage photos, very tastefully decorated and with high-end fittings and appliances and lots of space. The three bedrooms each have their own en-suite bathroom (the master is downstairs and the other two bedrooms are upstairs), have spacious closets and are very nicely furnished. There is also a half bath adjacent to the living room which is very handy. The patio and pool area is lovely and we spent many happy evenings barbequeing, watching the fireflies (amazing!) and playing cards outside. The house is about a 10-minute walk from one of the nicest sections of the beach and is about a 15-minute walk from the center of Holetown and shops including a really good grocery store where you can get everything you need (although groceries are very expensive in Barbados). We had extended family staying at the Mango Bay resort in Holetown and it was no problem at all walking back and forth between the two. We rented a car for 3 days but probably wouldn't bother next time because we realized after we checked out various other beaches around the island that we were already next to one of the best beaches on the island. There are also local buses that you can use to get around the island that are very cheap and save you the headache of trying to find somewhere to park the car (not always easy). The property manager was extremely friendly and helped us with things like car rental, excursions, locating a sports bar where we could watch the American football division championships (!), finding a local taxi service, etc. Internet service was completely reliable so that my husband and I were able (sadly) to stay in touch with our respective offices with no problem. We had a fantastic holiday and can't wait to go back!
