“Stylish and great music”

A gorgeous long marble bar with bar stools wrapped around all 4 sides in the open air courtyard entrance of lime grove shopping centre surrounded by designer shops. The music is fantastic, the setting feels very glamourous!!!!! Fantastic rum punch and actually quite cheap!!!!! Worth a visit on a night out!!!!

“Lovely bar but extremely poor service. The bar lady seemed lazy!!”

Beautiful place in a beautiful setting. Went for pre drinks before we nipped to Nishi Restaurant opposite, but the bar lady made us feel uncomfortable in ordering from her. The management needs to sort this out big time! Why set up such a high class place wirh low class service?
Drinks were nice, service let down. The male staff was better mannered.

“Wonderful Cocktails”

This place was recommended by a friend. We did not eat, but had a drink. It was probably the best cocktail I have had, but not as cheap as other places, but worth it.

“Terrible service, subpar food”

This was my first and last visit to Lime Bar. Six of us went here for lunch and the service was abhorrent. Our waitress, Lynne, was extremely unprofessional, especially when two of us told her that something was wrong with our food. This is a long review but in summary:

1) Our waitress seemed annoyed from the time she arrived at our table
2) The food was disappointing to say the least
3) The waitress' behaviour upon being informed about the food was shocking and unprofessional
4) We were then initially told that the chef tasted our food and deemed it good, and that it would not be removed from the bill
5) The manager, though in plain sight, took over fifteen minutes to arrive at our table after being informed of the problem. Furthermore she seemed to have no problem with the rude behaviour of our waitress.

When we arrived the area wasn't busy however the waitresses took a while to even pay attention to us. As mentioned there were six of us, and our waitress seemed clearly irritated when she had to bring two extra chairs to our table. We ordered sandwiches and fries and these took upwards of thirty minutes to arrive. No one attended to us or informed us about the long wait. Eventually our waitress returned but she began placing some plates with the wrong people. When we told her she was clearly and inexplicably exasperated. She responded, "You switched [places]!”, dropped the plates down - still in their incorrect location - and walked away. None of us had switched places after giving our order. Either way, placing orders with the right customer is certainly not too much to ask. Even more, curiously she had placed ketchup on only a few of our plates, and when asked for extra ketchup her tone when she responded seemed as if she had been asked to perform some arduous, ridiculous task.

A friend and I had ordered salmon sandwiches, and from our first bites we could tell something was wrong. The fish tasted off and it was nauseating. We called our waitress over and I told her about it, and she took both plates and left. To our shock, when she returned she informed us that (1) The chef had tasted the sandwiches and said they tasted good and (2) The two meals would not be taken off the bill, but that they can package the food for us to take home. She asked how the food tasted and told us, condescendingly, that the sandwiches contained raw salmon, not cooked salmon. I’ve tasted both and neither tasted like what was in my sandwich. Furthermore I am still trying to comprehend in which universe this response would be acceptable. Why would someone not only pay for food that tastes off, but also take it home after somebody else had tasted it? We promptly asked for her supervisor. She informed us that the manager was around and we asked to speak to her. For about ten minutes thereafter we could clearly see our waitress animatedly and angrily gesticulating and venting to other waiters at the bar, clearly speaking about us. Meanwhile the manager attended to another table and spent time at the bar, apparently doing nothing much.

When the manager finally arrived we explained the issue. Our waitress also came over, and while I explained the situation to the manager, Carol, she told me our waitress’ name was Lynne. At this point I looked over at Lynne and her whole body language gave the impression that she wanted to fight with us. I told the manager that I did not understand how we could have been told that the chef tasted the food and that we would be given packaged food that someone else ate. Carol then asked us to describe exactly how the food tasted, and said that it was smoked salmon (clearly Lynne did not know what she was talking about earlier). I told her that I’d tasted smoked salmon before - as both Carol and Lynne seemed to be under the impression that I never had - and that it never tasted like what we had just been served. The manager also informed us that three people had tasted it and said it was okay. She then stated that the two meals would be taken off the bill. Thereafter Carol and Lynne left.

Finally we got the bill, paid, and left quickly. This was the most terrible dining experience I have ever had. We have the utmost respect for those in the service industry, however we expect the same respect, especially as paying customers. Lynne’s behaviour was uncalled for and unnecessary, especially since we never spoke to her rudely or aggressively. Even more, I have never before experienced waiters effectively telling customers that they must be wrong since staff tasted their food and judged it to be fine. We were all shocked by Lynne’s behaviour and perplexed as to how she could have possibly secured employment as a waitress.

“Sadness”

Samosa's were very tasty but everything else was painful. There are only a few gems on staff and we were not lucky enough to get one. Service was slow and our waitress did not do very much, and we were sitting at the bar! She was clearly thinking about doing something else because she forgot about us. To make matters worse, after we got the bill we watched her glance at the card at least a few times before she ran it through. Brutal.
