“Better than the photos!”
Reviewed 3 July 2017 for a stay in June 2017

The villa was amazing, much bigger and better than it looks in pictures. The location is perfect! Amanda is an incredible host, she is always contactable and very helpful in every way. We had an issue with the ac one night and she made sure it was sorted out immediately. If I ever come back to Barbados I will be staying here again!

Thanks Amanda!!

Thanks Romy, you were a great guest. Lots of those that have stayed have said the same as you - we will have to change the photographer! So glad it exceeded expectations and please do come back next year.

“A wonderful stay”
Reviewed 19 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Just back from 10 days in Holetown. The house was really lovely . Very spacious and modern yet homely and comfortable . Being on holiday with our two adult kids we made full use of all the terraces and living space . The location is ideal, in a quiet and safe area yet close enough to the beach and bars and restaurants. The local wildlife was an added bonus , watching the monkeys and the humming birds was a delight .
Amanda and the local managing agents were very helpful and made our stay even more special
Would definitely recommend staying here.
Certainly hope to return

Thanks Ann. Like you we never tire of that troop of monkeys strolling across in front of the house in the morning. It's a bit or a tradition to drink our first morning coffee watching them from the terrace. And really glad it worked for you and your adult children. We are at the same stage in our life and having family around us but with enough space that they can have their own space - certainly works for us.

“Just Perfect”
Reviewed 2 May 2017 for a stay in March 2017

Everything about this property was perfect for us - the location, being right in the centre of town and yet tucked away just enough to be peaceful; the size of the villa, nice and spacious; the pool, just the right size for a cooling dip. The lounge area on the first floor has French doors to the front and rear of the property and allows a cooling breeze to waft through. The kids loved the huge selection of channels available on the TV and the wifi was very good. The kitchen was well equipped and the property was very clean. Kathy and Kelly-Anne who look after the house in Barbados were really welcoming and accommodating. The whole booking process was very smooth, Nigel and Mandy were a delight to deal with. We will definitely return.

“Amazing house”
Reviewed 7 March 2017 for a stay in February 2017

The layout of the house was great, plus the spacious high ceilings, big bathrooms and showers, very clean. Guest Netflix account and Apple TV. The little things add up. Even better than the pics. West coast location was perfect. House close to everything while still far enough from main road to be nice and quiet. Check in seamless, cleaner there every few days and the house book of recommendations was very helpful. This is as good as it gets

Tom, thanks so much for choosing 7 Hillside Villa and so pleased the house matched up to you and your guests expectations. We love having guests like you who enjoy the vibe of the house and make the most of the area, which you clearly did. We were hot on your heels and I'm writing this by the pool - feeling very chilled. Do come back next year....

“Perfect location with a great plunge pool.”
Reviewed 12 February 2017 for a stay in February 2017

The location in Holetown couldn't be better, walking distance to designer shops, supermarket & beach. The house is well equipped & contemporary, with an excellent plunge pool, & great villa managers. One bedroom is ground floor, but there are two flights of stairs to the top bedroom suites, and they are mostly open plan, so be aware if you have small children or any infirmity.

Thanks Christine - so glad you had a good time - it was a pleasure having you stay. Glad you enjoyed the pool; cooling off in there after the beach - or even after a run - is one of life's great pleasures, particularly if followed by a cocktail! The house rules are clear that we don't let to those with young children or who are infirm, so thanks for reinforcing that point.

“West Coast Town House, Holetown, St James, Barbados”
Reviewed 7 February 2017 for a stay in January 2017

We arrived at Lime Grove following an 8 hour flight and a 90 minute queue at immigration to be welcomed by Kerry-Ann and Tiffany, the Service Maid and daughter of Solly and Kath who manage the property, who showed us around the substantial and beautifully modern town house. Situated in a very peaceful location monitored by security. We felt very safe and everyone is polite and friendly.

If you are up at day break you can watch families of Green Monkey's playing outside.

Everything is within minutes walking distance. The local supermarket stocks both local and Waitrose brand items. The ATM is in the local shopping mall, next to Burberry, Boss, Cartier, Ralph Lauren, Louis V, etc. The amazing beach is just across the road.

We parked our hire car at the property and traveled the Island. Solly and Kath were always on hand to help with restaurant bookings, swimming with turtles, places to visit, issues with the property (blown light bulbs etc).

Kerry-Ann serviced the property every other day. Renting a property like Amanda's is way better than a hotel. You don not feel constrained to your room, or forced to pay high prices at the bar, or share the lounge with other guests. We had the freedom to buy our own food and drinks and enjoy the beautiful property. In fact we cancelled two dinner reservations and instead came back to the house, cooked a BBQ and relaxed in the open plan rooms, whcih have terrace doors leading from then kitchen to the lounge. And sat on the balcony watching the sunset over Holetown. The property is large enough for six to eight people.

Our departure was a breeze. Kerry-Ann arrived, then Solly and Kath to say goodbye. We felt privileged to stay in a wonderful house in paradise. We will most definitely rent Amanda's house again on our second visit to Barbados.

Pete, that wonderfully detailed review took time to write: thank you so much. Sounds like you enjoyed the house just as we do when we are on the island: chilling by the BBQ and the pool is, for our money, as good as any restaurant and as you say it's a completely different, and more relaxed experience, than staying in the hotels. You are welcome back anytime and, by the way, your compliment to the staff was returned - they thought you were a lovely couple!
