I would recommend this for those wanting a relaxing, quiet stay in a town which is not so touched by tourism. It is an old, attractive house, you could imagine it being in a Eric Rohmer film. There are 2 rooms with a balcony overlooking a courtyard with orange trees. The room was comfortable, and clean, with tea and coffee making facilities. Air conditioning can be included at an extra price.
Joe and Antoinette were very welcoming and gave some sound advice about Malta and Gozo. We only stayed one night but it was memorable, particularly having breakfast in the courtyard (in January!)
There isn't a great deal to see in Zabbar itself but it's a pleasant town. You can easily take buses to Valletta (30mins) - a must see, and Marxascala (10mins) which is good for swimming and has quite a lot of restaurants. If you wanted to use it as a base for travelling round the whole island you could do this with a car.
As other reviewers mentioned this wouldn't be suitable for wheelchair users. They have a friendly cat.More
