We enjoyed a wonderful three-night stay at this fabulously well-run, homely, comfortable and friendly jungle retreat. Our simple wooden hut had a comfy bed and its own toilet. A large, clean communal shower was just a few steps away along a gravel path laid between wonderful jungle vegetation.
All meals are charged separately from the room rate. This means you can pick and choose if you eat in or out for breakfast and dinner. A K^kitchenette is available for those wanting to self-cater.Coffee and tea are available there for all.
Marge's cooking is outstanding - take advantage of eating a truly delicious home cooked meal with plentiful portions and scrumptious desserts. Marge and Tom sit down to eat with their guests every single night (respect!!) and have an endless number of fascinating to tell accumulated over the 11 years they have run the farm.
You will eat your breakfast surrounded by hummingbirds - and have the chance to meet Julio - an incredibly knowledgeable local man who works with Marge and Tom. He took us on a guided tour through a piece of land behind his village - absolutely untouched jungle with all the caves, plants, trees, ariel roots, climbing opportunities and caverns you could possibly wish for. He has a vast knowledge of medicinal plants that he is happy to share and will lead you through caves and up trees for as long asyou want. Lunch athis home afterwards was delicious - his wife Juliette is also a superb cook.
The drive out to Caracol waseasy- 90 minutes of bumpy roads but well worth it.
We heard howler moneys among man other jungle sounds and literally loved every minute of our stay in this fabulous farm - a place that really is in tune with nature.
WIFI is available if needed.
NOTE: payments can be received by paypal. But the WIFI connection available does not support SMS messages. I could therefore not receive the access security code for my paypal account which was sent by SMS. If you plan to pay by paypal, make sure you log in to your account beforehand.

Had an overnight stay with some friends and Moonracer was superb. Tom and Marge are great hosts and Marge is a phenomenal cook.

Electricity and Wi-Fi are limited, but it makes for a great "disconnect."

The rooms are screened in and well ventilated with very comfy beds, but there are no fans, but it gets relatively cool in that area; another guest had brought along a small battery powered fan which was a cool idea.

You're fully immersed in nature, and birding, in particular, was a highlight.

We loved the moonracer farm. A great place to relax and enjoy nature. You can hear the monkeys and birds while sleeping in your cabana. There is no electricity, the perfect place to be unplugged for a few days. Besides that, Tom and Marge are excellent hosts. The food was delicious. Since they live in Belize for about 10 years and do visit a lot of touristic places regularly, you can learn a lot about their experiences. I would highly recommend a stay at the moonracer farm!

This was an amazing place to stay! It was great to get away from everything and just relax and enjoy the sights for a few days. The owners were awesome and made our stay so enjoyable! Also, the food was fantastic, and we enjoyed the chance to get to know the other guests around the table at supper. I would highly recommend this place!

PROS-You are in the Jungle; safely so. You are surrounded by nature and all of the wonderful sounds of Howler Monkeys, Toucans, Humming birds, insects, unknown animals going through the brush. Watching “dozens” of hummingbird s flying everywhere as you eat breakfast. Unbelievable ambiance created by your hosts, Tom and Margie. Amazing home cooked meals by candle light. Everything fresh with home made breads, tortillas, yogurt etc...If you want to bring your own food, a very useable kitchen by the cabins....but do take advantage of their amazing meals and talks in the evening. Staying in the new cabanas......no electricity or internet!!! But solar lights that really set the mood! Bed was very comfortable!!Take advantage of the jungle hikes on trails hacked out by Tom and Margie. Bring lots of water!!!! Tom and Margie have an intimate knowledge of the area and are happy to share the “off the beaten” secrets. They really helped us arrange trips and knew how to work with bureaucracy issues. Julio and his wife work at Moonracer, but are really part of the family there!
Stay at least 5 days to really appreciate the area.

Cons——For us, no cons. If you have to have 24/7 internet access (there is limited internet) and a blowdryer, this isn’t the place for you.

THANK YOU! We will be back.
