Arrived at the camp after a 2 hour long drive from marco polo airport, the drive was horrendous as the drivers in italy seem to be on a death wish!
met the rep at 3pm at the select camp tent, a slight wait as the old rep was working alone and had to take each guest to their accomodation.
our caravan at first glance was a shock, the ants were out of control, the double bed was the actual size of the bedroom and we learnt that it only gets cleaned by the previous occupants. so found a few things a bit manky! the best thing in the caravan was the shower, our group consisted of 2 adults and a child but the cabin was still too small for us. we could never eat or drink outside the caravan due to the ants, we would be covered literally within minutes! there was no goodnight sleep either the bed was like it was made out of stone!! and the cushions looked like they had been sat on by a 50 stone man! so sore necks were to be had each morning! the welcome pack didnt have a word in english and the service for english visitors was poor. we didnt have a good service from select camp we didnt have a clue what was going on in the camp or things to do and see nearby as nobody spoke english. we later learnt we were the only english on the camp :)
the food, beach and pool was excellent and most of our hours were spent there mainly due to the fact we couldnt bear to go back to the caravan.
venice is a great trip out!! something you must do whilst visting italy. the prices are very steep in italy.
the holiday was great but only because we made the fun happen ourselves. if you enjoy camping and feeling rough and looking like you been dragged through a hedge the following morning then this holiday is definitely up your street!
