The only good thing about this place is its location. Situated 5 minutes from Bondi Beach this place is in a brilliant location.
However if you want to have a good nights sleep and actually feel clean this place is not for you.
Firstly on arrival to Surfside we had booked a private double room, on check in we were told that this is now not available and they had overbooked and now had to go into a shared dorm. I don't mind sharing but we just needed a couple of relaxing days with a touch of privacy.
The room itself was in serious need of a clean. The walls were dark and miserable and I felt as though I was in a cave.
It was during the summer and all we got for a 10 bed dorm was one small portable fan. The heat was unbearable. You were unable to sleep because of the heat and also you can hear every noise in the hostel, ear plugs were definitely a necessity.
The shower facilities were average, however I didn’t necessarily feel clean after a shower due to the lack of air con and humidity.

Yes it's a backpackers.... but you could hear every footstep in this dive. It was like a heard of baby elephants were running through the hallways and hyenas were giggling in the room next door from 10 - after midnight (on a Wednesday night). Location is good but if you're a light sleeper do not stay here. Rooms are basic and hot (bring your own towel).

The staff in this place are useless there no help whatsoever, there arrogant , and there hardly ever there, there rude. You have to pay for milk they rent the lounge out when the place is full. Met some decent people tho just a shame on the staff! The ping pong table and equipment is a joke.rant over ! Ps it rained for four days solid !!

Literally a 2minute walk to the amazing bondi beach! The hostel itself was awesome, I was originally meant to be there for 1 week and ended up staying for 3.5 weeks. Great place to meet new people.very social. Great outdoor area with BBQ and Ping pong table. TV room with big tv. Good working showers always with hot water. I loved it!! Stay here!!!

One of the main reasons we booked this place was because it was advertised with free parking. The guy at reception was extremely rude, and possibly drunk, told us to park up the road for free. After driving around for nearly an hour there was definitely no free parking in Bondi. When we spoke to another guy at reception he said the same again, go up the road, but after speaking to a local Bondi resident it was obvious surfside either don't have a clue or are complete liars. There is no free parking in Bondi!

We book a 8 bed dorm, which they managed to squeeze 9 people into as one was a 'double bed'. There was no room for anyone's bags and at night it was so hot I woke up several times and had to go for a walk outside. There was no air con in the room just one lousy floor fan that blew air out in one direction. Seriously the most hottest, uncomfortable dorm I have ever stayed in!

The toilet doors had a large gap in them, so people could look in whilst you're in there, weird! The showers would overflow and the whole bathroom would flood. Literally water would be everywhere.

The staff there were never helpful, we're extremely condescending and over all just rude. I could not wait to leave that place.
