“Inexpensive accommodation & chance to see real Paris”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

Pros:
A good price, and a clean and modern room.
Well equipped kitchenette in the room, although we didn't make use of it.
The Malakoff suburb is pleasant and safe, and was a good opportunity to see where real Parisians live away from the touristy centre.

Cons:
Feels a little bit away from the action, can become a bit of a bore travelling in and out on the metro.
Hot water in shower only lasted long enough for 1 shower - not great when there are 2 of you!

Tips:
Use Malakoff Plateu de Vanves metro on line 13, which is a 5-10 min walk. Mairie de Montrouge on line 4 is further away, about 15 minutes.
Pluriel Cafe, just down the road from accommodation, is good for lunch. Boulanger Patissier, a little further down, is a good bakery to pick up breakfast on the way to the metro.

Overall, may not return to use as a hotel, but would definitely think about it if I were to spend a month or so in Paris trying to improve my French!

Stayed at the hotel for three nights with family, booked a total of three studio rooms between us.
Decided to catch a taxi there, which cost around €85 for a 8 seater.
On arrival at the hotel check-in was quick. We had not specified room type, but we were easily accommodated. Some staff were friendly than others, but this was not an issue for us.
We were all pleasantly surprised with our rooms, (the boys had a small balcony in their twin room, which they enjoyed gloating about). Each room had a handy fridge and microwave, however equipment/utensils varied greatly in each room. One room didn't have a kettle and the twin room seemed better equipped if simple cooking was required. There was a dish towel and washing up liquid in the kitchen area and small bottles of toiletries in the bathroom (although the scent was not to my taste and I had brought my own, so not an issue). A soap dispenser in the bathroom, similar to the kitchen would have been useful.
Two members of our group tried breakfast, they advised that it was "ok", although they would rather go to one of the nearby cafés for more selection and better coffee.
There are a few nice restaurants/cafés in the close vicinity, staff were very welcoming and patient with us due to our limited French. On two occasions French customers offered to assisted in translating for us.
The metro station was close by (less than 10 minutes), although it was a little tricky to find at first. The metro system was easy to use after we received some assistance from staff on our first day.
I had read in other reviews that some people found the Malakoff area a little rough, however we felt safe walking from the metro at night although there were small groups of males standing around at times they did not make you feel at ill-ease and they got on with their own business (whatever they may have been).
It was my first time staying in a 2 star hotel and overall it was great value for money stay, which met our needs. It is likely that I would return to the hotel on my next visit to paris and I would recommend it to others to try out for themselves.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on the 19 - 21 February 2014. The room was fine, it had a little kitchen in one corner which was very useful. There was a small fridge which was handy and a kettle. We saved money on breakfast as there was a supermarket not so far where we bought cereal, bread and milk.

Our only problem was our sink in the bathroom was blocked, we were offered another room.

The bed was fine no problems. We had a small balcony which was nice but not much to see as there were buildings directly opposite, there was a small green area just outside the balcony area. We took our car so the hotel had a car park underground. It cost us a bout 9 euros a day to park there.

The local metro was easy to use and not far from Paris centre. Took us about 20 mins to get into the centre using metro. We also took our car which was handy during the night when we went out. It was a bit difficult finding car parking space.

Overall the stay was pleasant and enjoyed our trip to Paris.

Room Tip: We chose a studio room which was fine.

Our stay overall at the hotel was pleasant And I really enjoyed the non-invasive DIY apartment feel that you get. Our room had a cute little kitchen which we adored and saved a lot of money on breakfast by just getting some cereal and milk. Bed was comfy enough and we had all the essentials and more. My only issue was getting to and from Malakoff. By day a sweet little neighbourhood but by night... The ghetto. Witnessed a few drug deals and a few suspect looking folk. Lovely hotel but I advise you take a pickpocket proof bag and possibly a Flac vest...

On the outskirts of Paris, a very pleasant hotel, nice breakfast and very confortable bedrooms. Although outside of Paris's arrondissement and has been the penultimate subway station of M13 line, the location is good with many options to lunch and dinner - the time spent from Malakoff to Paris on the subway is small - something around 10 or 15 minutes. The only thing that I did not liked was the poor wifi signal inside my room. Even though, I recommend the staying (and asks a room with a more strong wifi signal).

Room Tip: Perguntem sobre o sinal da Wifi e peçam um quarto que tenha o sinal bom (asks a room with a more str...

After visiting Paris a few years ago in a similar type of place I expected a similar experience . Tiny room, cramped reception, tiny underground dining room, a small shower barely big enough for a child, boy was I surprised. The room was great, I proper comfy bed, decent size, decent size shower. Bright and airy, nice bright dining area. Good choice for breakfast. Only 20 mins from the metro station marie de montrogue. The best way to find it is opposite a Peugeot garage on boulevard Gabriel peril, took us ages find it as the pics on the website are not of the road facing part but of the back accommodation part, so after walking past. 2 or 3 times eventually found it. My only negative and it's being really picky, the room was a double room and you only got 1 internet access. Really picky I know, but honesty is the best policy. I paid a lot more money to stay in worse accommodation. Definitely will be returning. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed here for 8 nights in sep, 13. Location is quiet and nice. 10 mins walk from metro station, but bus stop is just few steps away. Grocery shop is near by and remains open till late night. Very friendly and helping staff. Rooms are very clean and room cleaning service is provided after every 5 days. Kitchen ware and other stuffs are good and almost everything you require in kitchen is available. The shower has very good hot water also the room heaters are working well.
Overall, it was an awesome pleasant stay, and would like to stay here again if get chance.

Room Tip: Rooms having 2 single beds are bigger and spacious than the rooms having 1 big double bed.
