Friendly place and pretty good value for meals. Portions very generous. They have menus for all main languages but a little attempt at French goes a long way.
Food was well cooked and well presented with a lovely taste. We had salad an one night that beat us both as such a large portion. Meal cost including 2 glasses of wine, main and desserts around 30 to 50 euros for 2 but obviously depends on what and how much drink is involved.
The decor is something to experience and is a conversation maker.

Great meal within walking distance of our hotel (hotel Patio Brancion - excellent)
Asked a local to confirm directions and they said it was an excellent restaurant
Fixed priced menu excellent - generous portions and food was excellent
Make the effort to speak french and it will be rewarded with great service and attitude
Not touristy, full of locals and a great atmosphere

As visiting Australians, we were delighted to be taken to this quirky fun place by friends who live in Malakoff. Food quantities were large (too large I thought). The menu had a local feel and our hosts told us this was a regular casual eatery for them. Luckily they were French as the Menu and the waiting staff were not very English-friendly (but I would not let that deter you - you can fumble your way through as with any unique foreign experience!).

The decore was bedazzling! Inside and out. Very hard to describe - retro fluro advertsing signs and banners and statues (I'll post a photo - its the best I can do) - in such proliferation it was overwhelming. Busy, bustling, noisy and full of locals (always a good sign). I just loved the experience. 15 minutes by Metro on the Montparnasse line.

We ate here three times during our nine day stay.

The atmosphere and decoration blew us away. The place is covered with retro and classic flashy commercials, banners, signs and other element inside as well as outside.

First time we arrived, there was a lady taking up 4-5 orders at the same time as pushing out entrés, taking care of bills and in a whirlwind managing to find us a seat with a french menu. But after not recognizing our french, quickly handing us an english one.

We ordered a salad each and got a mountain of food that tasted extraordinary. And the meals were totally affordable.

The last time we ate there was a sunday. I assume that sunday is the night families tend to eat out, because there was absolute caos. The poor lady (another one) had to deal with all these people all alone, and we almost never managed to pay our bills and leave. So I would advise you not to go on a sunday night.

All in all an excellent experience :)
