We booked this camp with Canvas Holidays and most of the time it was fine. If we had read the brochure a bit better then we would have spotted that it was dog friendly, ie other were loads of little happy dogs, not my idea of a relaxing quiet holiday.
Apart from this the site was well run with quiet enforced at 11pm, cars were banned from 11 til 7. The onsite entertainment was certainly attractive to the other campers (not one for us) but the noise was well controlled.
The site is ideal if you are a part time cyclist as the whole area is flat and you can easily reach neighbouring lidos, and I must say with no worry about your health the Italian drivers were very courteous to cycle riders and we even watched the main road away from the site stop to let two cyclists over the road. A nice ride is to the town of comacchio, something of a little venice.
The prices in the camp shop were very reasonable and had enough to keep you going although a visit to the local bennets supermarket will give you anything you need.
We ate at the camp restaurant every night and I can happily say that we didn't have a bad meal, I even stretched to the local disk of grilled eel it was fine it's just fish. I would recommend however the fillet de manzo with pepe Verde sauce, one of the best pieces of beef I have ever had.
Although the toilet blocks were a little mixed with sit down and hole in the floor types it was always clean. The showers were fine even for me, and I'm a big lad.
The site leads straight onto a wide and sandy beach ideal for any family. It was most unusual to watch the Italian families raking the seabed for vogole (clams) which they presumably
took home to eat.
The site is ideal on a fly drive to visit San Marino, ravenna, Venice, rimini and some beautiful seaside villages. The journey into the Tuscan hills was breathtaking and a welcome relief from the heat on the coast.
