This is the second time we have stayed here, and it was just as enjoyable as our first stay last year. Our room was comfortable and spacious with fantastic views of the mountains. The rate included Dinner consisting of a 5 course set menu, and is a great way to try dishes that you probably would not normally order yourself. The food was delicious, and service was excellent. Drinks are also reasonably priced. It's a great location for driving/cycling the Stelvio Pass, and Ingrid Thon is very helpful in suggesting places to visit. I would definitely stay there again if I was to return to this part of Italy.

We stayed for a week in August 2012, with our 5 and 3 year old sons.

We had a family suite on the top floor, which consisted of two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The larger bedroom had a seating area with the most amazing view up the valley towards the glacier. Having completely separate bedrooms worked very well for us - we had not had good nights sharing with our children before.

We used the children's club in the evening. The children ate before the adults, and then went off to do craft/outdoor adventure/games. They loved it and we loved our delicious and varied (5 course!) evening meals.

Breakfast was also good, although the coffee might have been stronger.

Before we went we were concerned that there might not be enough to do in the area with young children. How wrong we were! There was so much to do in the area that we felt that we only scratched the surface in a week.

The hotel itself was lovely, but what really made it stand out were the friendly and helpful staff.

Our children want to go back and so do we!

Once again we stayed at the Bella Vista, this time in early summer and with our month old baby. This time we had a middle floor room which had an extra sitting area with access to a small balcony, looking towards Stelvio and Madatschspitze... a truly amazing panorama that is forever changing with the light and weather. Peace and quiet, no crowds with a warm atmosphere. Restaurant first class with staff who remember you, are always friendly and helpful. The family still run many trips through the week for the whole family like the walk up the valley through the forest and past alpine flowers to a waterfall you can walk behind, kids love it. Staying with the Thöni family is always a memorable experience, we are still surprised that it only the hotel has only 3 stars when really it should be 4.
I made some time lapse movies whilst I was there, I will upload one here soon.

A group of us stayed for 2 nights at this hotel and we all thought that it was absolutely fabulous. We received a warm welcome at reception when we checked in and all of the management and staff were very helpful throughout our stay. Our room was excellent with stunning views of the mountains from the balcony, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was well equipped with a powerful shower. We booked half board accommodation and did not have high expectations for dinner but how wrong we were! The food was absolutely excellent, there was no choice but no one had any complaints with the 5 course evening meal. Breakfast was equally good. Our main reason for the trip was to drive the Stelvio Pass, which was absolutely fabulous. We also explored other points of interest in the area which the hotel proprietor kindly gave us details of. This is definitely somewhere we would like to return to.

We walked into the hotel and luckily found there were rooms available. We took one on a higher floor so we could have an unimpeded view of the mountains and valley. The French doors opened onto a private balcony, and we enjoyed the fresh mountain air and ringing bells from the neighboring goats. Our large room had a small sitting area in addition to the comfortable beds. The bathroom, with a shower only, was perfect for our needs. We had a chance to explore the hotel and discovered a sauna and a couple of rooms devoted to childcare. We went for a short hike up the valley to a national park building and a neighboring farm. We also discovered that dinner was included in the room rate, and what a dinner! Partly buffet and partly table service, the food and service were fantastic. Equally good was the buffet breakfast. This hotel is owned and operated by former World Cup skier Gustavo Theoni and his family. As skiers, we appreciated the ski-themed decor, especially the numerous trophies Theoni has won. My only criticism was the TV programming, with shows broadcast in German and Italian, but no English (petty problem, I know). Overall, we hit a home run at this hotel: gorgeous view, great service, comfortable room, and fantastic food. My husband wanted to stay for another day or so, and in retrospect, I wish we had.

Room Tip: Rooms on higher floors facing towards the mountain pass are a bit more expensive and have incredible...

Perfect stop off point for weary drivers! After a long drive we recieved a lovely warm welcome and nice clean big room! The views were the big point, from the room and dining room it was epic, huge mountains with a pretty village nestled at the bottom. Also the bed was nice and soft, best night sleep of a two week six hotel trip across italy!
Wonderful hospitality and lovely hotel, we will be back because i havent had enough of the roads round here!

Room Tip: Overlooking mountains room with balcony!

We had a great time at Bella Vista hotel! Owners and staff were extremely helpful and very polite. For our children the days were 100% busy with attractions and activities provided by us and the hotel. This meant long, romantic dinners just for two of us :) Location, surrounding infrastructure and facilities are truly amazing.
