“adequate for the money”
Reviewed 23 July 2012

It is an old hotel with old furniture in a quite bad area. Nearest metro station in 5-8 min walk which is good at daily hours, but it is quite scary at night (after 21-22), so better to get a taxi after 22. There are a free shuttle (until 22:00) service to the center, but we didn't try it. The railway station (where eurostar, thalys leave) is in 1 metro station or 15-20 min walk.
The room was basic, old fashioned, but it is cleaned every day. The room we got faced to the street, the noise was just on the line
The staff was nice, helpful. The WiFi wasn't free, but reasonable price (9 eur)
Breakfast was the best part, it was excellent, fresh and as much as you wanted.
So the hotel is adequate for the money, with some compromises at night.

I'll call it a Motel and not a hotel. Old hotel, old forniture. The price is the only convenience but don't expect an HOTEL. In the reception there is the official price per single room 280 Euros and for a double room 360 Euros: of course I had a cheaper price per night thanks to a special offer but, if the prices are real...THEY ARE CRAZY!!!
It is situated near the midi station but in the middle of an arabian "zone" it looks like living in Marrakech. No problem for the day hours but at night could be a little bit scarying and dangerous.

I travel around many countries staying at hotels but this one was particularly bad.
We booked the free shuttle bus at reception which never turned up and when we complained they just shrugged the shoulders saying they weren't informed.
The toilet paper was cheap and stuck to your fingers.
The breakfast items were completely gone 40 mins before the end except for coffee, juice and butter. We asked for some basic items and the waiter made out that he didn't understand English but a few seconds later he tried telling us the kitchen closes at 10am. After explaining that it was only 9.40 we managed to get some bread, ham and cheese. Other guests following us had the same problem, some put up with it and left, others complained and got some items.
We also told reception about the lock on our door being extremely hot because a live wire was shorting out in the lock recess. She noted our comments but we could tell that she already knew about the problem!
On a plus side the sheets were clean and the mattress was okay.

This is a basic hotel in a relatively run down area of Brussels. However it is clean, the breakfast is good and the staff are very friendly and helpful. One of the best features is that they operate a free shuttle service into the centre of Brussels, first car goes at 6pm and operates hourly with the last pick up to take you back to the hotel at 10pm. It drops you off near the Bourse which is the nearest you can get to the Grand Place by road. It is in the streets around the Grand Place that many restaurants are found. If you want to go back to the hotel after 10pm I would get a taxi

Room Tip: The front of the hotel faces onto a busy road so get a room at the back if you can.

Secure parking available, with limited availability.
Rooms in desperate need of some TLC, but never the less clean.
Restaurant food was good with fairly limited selection.
Must book via internet as you would NOT pay 300 euros for the rooms.
Noisy dogs in the evening.
Casual friendly feel about the place.

We stayed in this hotel from 14th of May until 19th of May.
This is a very simple hotel, service is friendly and it is located just a few blocks from the Metro station Clemenceau and seven blocks from Gare du Midi.
The room was small and a little bit shabby, but we just used it to sleep for around 8 hours so it was OK. The only noise that could disturb came from the street outside the window but around 11 o'clock in the evening it was quite.
The hotel is situated in an area where lot of African people live but they are really friendly and helpful.
There is a tremendous market on Saturdays just two blocks from the Hotel (opposite station Clemenceau).
If you want a cheap hotel without any extras I can recommend this hotel
