Galeri Resort Hotel

To try to keep this as objective as possible I'm going to state just the facts so every one can decide for his/herself if it's a good hotel or not.

I booked the hotel 6 months before spending there a 10-day vacation. Yet, when we arrived our room was not available. We were offered an apartment for one day (half a day basically so no reason to unpack), then we had to move to our standard room.

Sea-side view is rather side view.

Garden - very small (if you don't count every palm tree appearing here and there you have like 10-15 square meters of actual garden).

Kids playground - very small (4 or 5 swings and other things altogether)

Gym - very poor - 2 treadmills, 1 bench for dumbbells lifting (for pecs), 1 bench for abs, some weights and 3 or 4 other equipments (just 1 for legs and 1 for back muscles) so basically you can't do a full training.

Main pool - able to serve maybe one third of hotel's capacity, not enough chairs, most of them (90%) were occupied since 8 in the morning.

Water slides - 3, easy and short.

Location: is actually in Alara which looks like a ghetto. you have nothing to do outside the hotel unless you rent a car or take a bus. The Alara Bazaar is 1.2 km away. the way it looked discouraged me from stepping foot inside.

Car rental: NO, NO, NO. Although you would expect better from a 5 star hotel, they have Suzuki Samurai 16 years old with parts missing from the board, or Renault, Fiat Albea, etc 7-8 years old. They come with an empty tank. If you realize you've rented a piece of junk and want to change, the person that brings it will take you to Konakli (15km away and 15 euros worth for changing) where you will receive the new car. Pay attention: drivers in roundabouts lose their priority, drivers entering the road on first lane do not signal. Have a GPS with you. Windshields, lights and tires are not covered by insurance unless you pay extra 8 euros.

NIGHT Entertainment: TERRIBLE. Unless you like fart jokes. Same program every week. Kids enjoyed Minidisco - same program every night.

Day entertainment: ok, I guess...

Food: good, but it doesn't vary too much. Too many dishes repeat too often.

Reception: Most of them can't speak English. Miming works best. They speak better German and Russian (as most of their customers are Russian).

Giftshop: hotel prices.

Photographer: excellent professional photos, worth the money (if you negotiate a bit of course). you can obtain the photos on memory stick also.

Rooms - ok, cleaning ok, TV- not much to chose from those 20 channels if you don't speak German and Russian. The only channels in English: BBC, RT and MTV. French: arte. But you can always watch the language of sports on Eurosport.

Internet: only in lobby, wireless pretty bad. You can pay to use a desktop if you don;t have a laptop.

Games area in the lobby: pool (billiards), Playstation, and few others.

Room Tip: No such things. Btw, apartments are actually 2 standard rooms with common hallway and bathroom.

Two agreable weeks in July : Nice room , nice staff, excellent food . .. I must admit we missed the "out and search for an exciting new little restaurant" - part. But with the all-inclusive package pluss nothing but hotels nearby, our hotel -restaurant and the a la carte restaurant were a good alternative.

Hotel location is acceptable and I can at least say it has its own beach not like the many other hotels that you have to pass a highway underneath. The beach was not sandy if it is important for you which I really wish it was. Foods were awesome I have to admit it. Service staff was very friendly, open buffet restaurant was very well. We were be able to taste different foods almost everyday which you can't beat that in All inclusive hotels. I admit that the chief of the kitchen was great! How delicious steaks, chicken, salads, traditional Turkish foods, snacks etc. they were preparing for the guests. Swimming pool is not that great, sliding for the pools were so so. My daughter has ear infection, because the pool was not clean enough. Animation team was great for the kids. There was mini disco for the kids every night, but I have to admit that they should change something on it. If you stay there in a week, I am not sure how much the kids will enjoy to do same things every night. There was a Turkish night and beach party which were great! The rooms were in decent size, equipped with AC, minibar etc. and clean.
Overall, I can say we enjoyed our holiday, but it could be better if the beach is sandy and some attraction is better. On the other side, drinks, food, snacks were unbeatable! I can recommend it in the price range if you are looking for.

We stayed at this all-inclusive resort for a week, and was really disappointed. Much because of all the good reviews here!

The rooms where clean and but the beds where rock hard. The hotel had a small pool and the hotel was close to the beach. But from 9 am almost all of the deck chairs where "booked" by people placing their towels, but guess that's pretty common wherever you go... The staff hardly knew any english, but a lot of them pretended to do so - like when it took us three days to get an extra pillow for our room.

The food was pretty disgusting, and although there was a lot to choose from, we hardly could eat anything. And honestly, we usually are not that picky with what we eat... The beer was ok, but we couldn't drink the wine. Two days we went to the hotels a la carte restaurants, and that food was better, but still not really that good that you would have paid for it.

The guests at the hotel is 80% german, and a lot of families with small children. The location of the hotel is 35 km outside of Alanya, so there is nothing really to do around the hotel.

So, as you might guess - I would not recommend this place.

Me, my mother and dad stayed at Galeri for 10 nights. My parentes were very happy. The food was excellent, the beach was very very near. The staff was very friendly. For the prize we got it, it was worth going. My parents want to go again this year, but as I am a fun of trips, I never go at the same place twice. But if I ever do it , for sure it will be a record breaking on Galeri Resort.

Room Tip: Rooms in front of the sea, even if every room is seaview.

The hotel is great food is great the beach is close you are going thrue the hotel to the beach,BUT around hotel arent any streets any shops you cant go walking in the evening, also the beach isnt sand but bigger stones you have to use strand shoes , ive had to buy in the hotel ,There are two shops jewelery and shop where u can buy some strandshoes, and thinks to the beach.Staff are ver y kind, but neither in hotel or on the airport noone can talk fluently english. All would be great if there was sand on th e beach and around hotel streets and shops around is a BIG NOTHING what i missed so much. Food is delicious but I think this hotel is great for especially familly with small children cos u dont have to walk far to the beach cos beach is immidiately behind the hotel.I would go there if there were shop center and streets, small cafes and e tc, but anythink around, it was frustrating for me .If i went to turkia once again i would r ather go to the antalya , or alanya not here, even if the hotel was great i would go somewehre wehre are streets, shops ca es, evening life, lamps.but there NOTHING,IT WAS SO WRONG FOR ME B UT FOR FAMILY ITS GREAT PLACE.There were more family with small children.

Brilliant hotel, friendly staff, entertainment team excellent and multi lingual (Aidan (Torres) particularly good with the british tourists). Plenty of entertainment throughout the day. Food was exceptional and available at all times to 5* quality.

Albina in guest services was second to none.

Only cristism would be - the rooms although booked for a family of 4 were on the small size - unless you paid for a suite upgrade. Also, not many British tourists although this didnt really bother us as most staff could communicate in English anyway, and all entertainers spoke English.

All in all a good time was had by all and we would return.

Only 1 1/2 hours from the airport
