Gypsophila Holiday Village

A beautiful location by the sea provides a wonderful setting for this holiday village. It offers beautiful pools, seaside dining, with excellent choice, including evening barbecue. The gardens are colourful, and delightfully fresh and well maintained- even the cleaning staff wear uniform, and all are helpful, and polite. It is quite a walk from the town, but for a relaxing stay after an action packed trip to Cappadocia, it was perfect!

I only spent a couple of days here as part of a group travelling to Cappadocia, however, it is an impressive holiday village, not in walking distance of a town, in an area with other 'holiday villages' and hotels. I guess if you generally stay in one place it is ideal, it has many pool areas and is right on the beach which is long and sweeping (pebbles and sand). Different bar and cafe areas, the restaurant is large with the biggest buffet I have seen outside of USA with a huge variation of foods to satisfy any tastes. The accommodation is set in small blocks in landscaped gardens, Very clean and comfortable.

Quite a nice hotel, with a good location and range of facilities. It looks smart, but the quality of the workmanship isn't great, with a few quirks and rough edges. It certainly doesn't live up to its 5-star rating, but is still quite acceptable. I would stay there again. Compared to some hotels in Turkey, the food is of better quality, with a wide buffet choice for breakfast and dinner. Hotel is clean, and staff friendly.

Room Tip: Rooms are located in small, separate blocks, each 3 storeys high. There are no lifts. If mobility...

I am back from Gypsophila where I spent last 2 weeks. I was very disappointed and really don't understand why this resort is so well appreciated by many people.

I went 5 times to Turkey in various 5* resorts. And Gypsophila was the worse of them.
In my opinion, this is a bad 5* or a good 4* hôtel.

At arrival, the old fashioned room was very hot. Temperature in the room was above 30°C. Usually, air conditioning is working before the customer arrive. But it was not the case. Not a good start...

The main issue is that the hôtel is overcrowded. At 8 AM, you can't find any sunbed at the pool. You only find some free space at the beach. Most of people are getting up at 6 AM put their towels to book the sunbeds and go to breakfast. When you go to the restaurant, it is also very difficult to find a free table and even more difficult to find a baby chair...

Sunbeds are so close it's difficult to enter the pool because of the lack of space between them. You have the nose in the feet of your neighbour...

Few employees are speaking english but most of them are speaking german... 50% of people are german.

All-in is not so good.
You have to pay for ice,
You only get one bottle of water per day (we even didn't get it every day...)
The taste of their chemical juices is not good at all.

In addition, Wi-Fi is free but unusable. It is so slow. Too much people I suppose...
The TV image quality is not better. Blurred screen and only turkish channels. So no internet and not TV. Good! I did not came to Turkey for watching TV or surfing the net. But, even if there is a show every day, you won't find anything to do in the area. Most of people are going to sleep at 10 PM (On next day morning, they will have to get up early to book their sunbeds). Sorry, but this is not my kind of hollidays!

Finally, 3 people of our group (we were 8) suffered from severe diarrhea and vomiting. My wife and I came back of holliday with double otitis due to the poor quality of the water of the pool.

In clonclusion:

Positive aspects:
- There are many playgrounds for children.
- The food is good but quite repetitive. Deserts are better than average.
- Beautiful gardens around the resort.
- Many employees are friendly (quite rare in Turkey).

Negative aspects:
- Overcrowded (no space at the pool, no space at the restaurant, no space to attend the evening show, no wi-fi access, ...)
- Germany only resort
- Poor quality of the pool water
- Internet and TV are useless
- Poor quality of cocktails
- All-in is not so good
- Ice is not free
- Cleaning of towels at the pool is not free
- You have to pay for a second key for your room
- Plenty of power cuts (air conditioning disabled)
- Beds are small and no feather beds available

Room Tip: Everything is located next to the pool. So you sould ask for a room in this area.

Not far from the airport (1.5 hour), bordering with two-lane street, so the first line of buildings is very noisy. Definitely one of the roomiest places far and near - garden, beach, pools. Extremly soft beds - sleeping was the only problem for us. Services perfect, with regard to the paid ice cream. Primary communication languages are German and in some cases Russian which well correlates with the structure of the hotel guests - in both cases very cultivated, a good surprise. I also registered several cases of gluttony and alarming number of people coping with obesity. Marek, Czech republic.
