My family of four ( 2 adults, 2 children 11,8) have just returned from 10 nights here. We've had one of the best holidays ever. Firstly ,upon entering the hotel you will be blown away by how stunning and luxurious it is . The reception staff were friendly and efficient. The rooms and throughout the hotel were spotless. Bedding and towels changed on a daily basis , also you can have beach/ pool towels changed daily too. The barmen and waiter staff are so hard working . You can have as many drinks as you want each time - so if there are ten of you - you aren't restricted to just one drink per customer approaching the bar ! We found the drink measures to be generous and not watered down - as I have read in other reviews. The sheer variety of food is amazing too. Even the fussiest of eaters wouldn't go without . There are numerous snack bars throughout the complex - which served lovely food throughout the day , and at specific times they cook snacks such as fresh pancakes, doughnuts , jacket potatoes , toasties ,hot dogs and waffles. The entertainment staff are hard working - from morning right through till the early hours - but don't pester you to join in if you aren't interested. There is a spa that offers lots of treatments and a hairdressers etc. The journey from the airport was approx an hour and 40 mins -( we paid extra for a speedy shuttle - with max 4 drop offs - ) . On the journey the driver stops off for 10 mins for a break - so you can stretch your legs/ use the loo or grab a drink at a shop.
We met loads of lovely people, and there were a few English families over there - but predominately Polish and Russians. Take some beach shoes - as the beach is pebbly - and difficult to walk on - but is well worth it , as the sea is stunning.
There is a large bazaar up the road within walking distance - with hundreds of shops . Well worth a look - as the fake designer stuff is a great quality ,and so cheap . Don't be afraid to haggle ! We cashed money out there , as the rate in ATM s was better than home - they stock Euros, dollars and Turkish lira , although we took sterling with us too - and they were happy to take that off us.

A big thank you to the fab waiter, Suleyman Nural ,in the main restaurant - he is a friendly ,hard working young man - who always looked after us , and entertained the children at the same time as being so efficient at his job xxx ( Isabel says 'Hello' !! )
We would recommend this place any day !
Well done Mukarnas Spa Hotel x
The Owen Family .

Rooms:
Ok standard, very clean, balcony overlooking the garden/pool and sea.
Restaurant/food:
Buffet. Not your typical international cuisine, lots of vegetable dishes, no pork (so no egg&bacon!). Not a lot o sauces.
It would have been nice if the "local food" had been described (on a little note) so that one would know at least if they were savoury or sweet! Best buffet was the day they had lots of fish. Tried the alacarte-restaurant once, on "Italian night", but that was no hit. The food wasnt very italian, and the dishes were not inspiring.
Daytime there are snacks etc served at certain times near the pool witch was nice.
Bar:
Serviceminded staff, but not a lot to choose from. no drinks-lists! Could manage a rom&cola or g&t but nothing more complicated than that. Tried sparkling wine once, and that was served at roomtemperature....
Entertainment/activities:
Ok.
Pool:
The pool areas were kept very clean and orderly.
Clientel:
Quite a few russians (a bit loud and often not treating the staff very well), very few scandinavians during the week we stayed.

THE GOOD POINTS

On arrival we were greeted by a very polite man on the reception desk that spoke very good English. The lobby is beautiful and has four open view lifts and an open view of the pool area to sit and enjoy your drinks. When we arrived in a room we were presented with a bottle of red wine and a basket of fruit. Our room was spacious and clean, the mini fridge was filled daily with two bottles of water a bottle of coke, bottle of fizzy water and a cartoon of juice. The gardens were just beautiful and very well maintained! The pool area was very big and very clean to swim in, there was another pool for younger children and a separate pool slide area. The pool areas were always being cleaned from mopping, brushing, collecting empty cups and rubbish! I could not complain about the drinks, they were cold, tasty and a wide variety. There was always a water machine everywhere you went and tea and coffee machines. Some of the staff were so friendly and would go out their way to help you and try to communicate effectively with you. Some of the animation team were very fun and polite trying make you feel welcome and get involved in all the activities. There is a small gym, inside pool, Jacuzzi and steam rooms! If you missed breakfast for wanted something simple the beach bar served cheese toasties from 10-12. It is a lovely beach but it is stones not sand. The sea is lovely to swim in and there is bridge deck for you to jump off. This is a family holiday with not much activities to do outside unless you book a trip! we booked the big pirate boat trip which was amazing! deffo a must! The hotel is full of little cats and kittens which are so cute and they do not bother you. During the day there is times set up on the board to when different foods are served such as, pancakes, hot dogs, jacket potatoes, burritos, ice cream, doughnuts. There is a wide range of fruit to eat. beautiful hotel.

BAD POINTS
The maid survive was not the best, sometimes we were not provided with clean towels, they had just been hung outside the dirty ones to dry! I find this unacceptable as we showered every night and morning and she had been tipped every other day!! Every morning they would be hovering outside and always bash our door! The walls are very thin and we could hear everything our neighbors were doing our saying! The food was very poor! It was the same food every day with some slight changes however i did enjoy some of the soups, salads and fresh pasta that they made in front of you! There was one young female with curly hair that worked in the restaurant that would NEVER provide you with a drink even when you asked her or called her over, she would just ignore you and serve other people! this resulted in us going to the bar and ordering our own. NOT once was we able to book into the Italian restaurant, every time we went to book we was told come back on the Monday morning and when we did was informed it would not be open for the rest of the week!! In the 24 hour bar i found the atmosphere died once 12 o'clock came and the music was turned off! you have to pay to play pool and bowling! Not happy with the service we received there! it was 3 euros or 10 lira per person to play bowling, we paid over 100 lira to have two games of bowling and not even half way through our second came the fella came over and cancelled it and said no time up now other people waiting to play!! The bar man down there had an issue with my family, he would not serve my mum with drinks she asked for and would send her the lobby but whenever myself or my boyfriend ordered the same drink he would give us it!! The animation team performances of a night time were awful! although the shows were other performances came in was amazing! I was disgusted when i tuck my younger sister to play in the child's area for her to play on the trampolines for the animation manager (DJ bun head as we called him) told my sister she was far to big to play on there turned the lights off and told her should go the disco and get a drink! This upset my sister as she is no where near BIG or FAT! she was wearing a child's GREEN band and is 8 years old! His attitude is disgusting! One afternoon while my family were in the pool playing ball games i looked up to notice that a group of people had just happily sat them selves down on our beds! soaked all our towels drink and ate leaving a mess over our things! When i shouted over that they was our beds they just laughed and left! and not only that but my clothes had been taken aswel!

There are markets not far from the hotel! be aware as my bother did not want to enter a shop and carried on walking the fella came out his shop and SLAPPED my brother so hard on the arm and left a massive mark which has now bruised!

Overall this is a lovely hotel but does need to make a few changes, we made the most of our time here and did enjoy most of it! I would recommended this hotel for large families, there was not many English there. Some of the staff was just amazing, and they most definitely credit this hotel!

Room Tip: Take Sterling or Euros! 4th floor hardly any noise. Ask from sea view

This is our 4th all- inclusive Turkey holiday (6 adults and 6 kids (7-10 years) - Would rate the hotel as the best we have stayed in in terms of room space and modern décor - the hotel was built in 2007 and apparently has had a refurbishment only last year. The food was good but not the very best we have had in Turkey (probably 3rd best our of 4 hotels) but we always found something decent to eat, All areas were kept very clean, pool area very clean, slides good, although the presence of an attendant was very infrequent. Night time entertainment generally very good and varied, Approximately 10-15% of people at hotel were British which is reasonably high compared to previous years, quite a few Polish 20% and Ukranian 15%, Russian 10%, Dutch 10%, German 10% and approx. 30% all other nations.

Self service coffee machines in bar and restaurants, coffee is quite decent and you can take it to your room without issues.

beds in rooms are very firm - may not suit all but we were fine with them - plus the aircon worked very well

Might need to get up quite early for getting a sunbed but no different to anywhere else we have visited in Turkey

Staff friendly, beach (shingle and stone) very near with private jetty for sunbathing. All in all would give it 9/10

Good go carting place only 10 mins walk from hotel cost £15 euros per person for 20 mins which is very good compared to UK go-carting rates.

Also a covered shopping area about 20 mins walk from hotel (past the go carting), there is also a free bus to take you - the bus stop is still 5 mins walk from Hotel.

In case you haven't been to Antalya airport before, the food and drink available on your homeward trip is very expensive and not particularly good - mostly fast food, better if you can either take something with you from your hotel or hang on till you land in my opinion

I booked this hotel having read some good reviews back in January, however more recent reviews that I read prior to travelling made me a little worried that I had made a bad choice, but having been there for a week commencing on the 17th July 2014, I had no need to worry.
From the moment I arrived I found the reception staff to be friendly and very helpful, the room 1169 was adequate and clean and well serviced, the bar staff were friendly and helpful and kept in check some of the rude Russians that attempted to queue jump.the food and drink was good, you could always find something to eat from the vast buffet style meals.the drinks came in large measures always served with a smile.
The pool and the gardens were exceptionally clean and well maintained. There were an ample amount of sun beds, but you did have to be an early bird if you wanted a bed in an area of your choice.the animation staff entertained throughout the day and the music that was played around the pool gave a chilled atmosphere .
The gardens led down to the pebble beach and jetty that gave easy access to the sea, which was fantastic to swim in.
The hotel boasts a spa with a fantastic indoor pool and jacuzzi , I only made use of this on the last day, I wish I had ventured in there earlier as it was so refreshing.
Overall I cannot fault this hotel in anyway, I had a fantastic holiday here and unusually for me I didn't want to come home after a week. I did not experience any of the bad points which some people have commented on in previous reviews. Maybe some people are just too hard to please.
I would gladly return here and would recommend the hotel to friends and relatives, so if you are due to travel here and are concerned by some of the bad reviews, don't be, this is a good hotel , with something for everybody.

Room Tip: Stayed on first floor, which had partial sea view. There is a grand bazaar about half a mile up the...
