Avocado Grove was such a lovely relaxing way to start our holidays. From the beautiful rooms, to the sofas in front of a cosy fireplace and of course the magnificent breakfasts it was all first class. John and Sonya are the perfect hosts and made us all feel so welcome with nothing being too much trouble. Easily the best B & B we have ever stayed at and one I would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the Flaxton/Montville area. We will be back!

So nice to meet such a beautiful family, pity the weather was so wet and cold. Hopefully the next time will be better weatherwise. Thankyou for showing us how to "Tag"

OMG. Where do I begin? 100% 5 * ratings of every single review on this B&B is so well deserved. Sonya and John go out of their way to please and they are such lovely and generous people. Nothing is a problem. Not even watching my fav TV show in their OWN private lounge room... as we couldn't get that channel in on the huge guest screen. John's 3 course dinner, as well as the beautiful breakfast was just HEAVEN! His "melt in the mouth" steak was the best I ever had. The place is super clean. Take a walk through their beautiful farm! Our dog was made welcome. Why we only booked for one night????? No idea. Have to blame it on my hubby!

Room Tip: In Winter I would suggest the 2 upper level west facing rooms for longer sun shine in the afternoon...

I cannot say enough good things about this B&B. My friend and I (early twenties) stayed with Sonya and John for two nights as we were attending a wedding at Flaxton Gardens. They were so kind as to drive us to and from the wedding, even considering our intoxicated state at the end of the night. If you are attending a function at Flaxton Gardens and are looking for a place to stay this is perfect. It is less than a 2 minute drive and set in such a beautiful area. On the other hand if you are looking for a place to escape for a weekend, this is also suitable. With large private rooms and guest areas its like a holiday at home. Like I said, I cannot give Avocado Grove enough praise. Big thank you to our B&B Mum and Dad and we hope to see you in the future.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Shepard room which had two single beds. The bathroom was located ‘down the hall’ bu...

A hectic two days of business in the Sunshine hinterland was made very bearable by staying at Avocado Grove. I was able to work quietly in my room, or join other guests on the balcony for an evening drink. Will definitely visit again on my next trip later in the year.

Wow!! We stayed at Advocado Grove for 1 night and wish it had been for much longer. John and Sonya are wonderful warm welcomimg hosts who made us feel more like friends than guests.
Our room was perfect with sliding doors onto the verandah giving was to stunning views and the breakfast John prepared and served us in the morning was to die for!!
We ate at the lovely Flaxton Grange in the evening which John took us to and picked us up from when we were ready to return.
The service John and Sonya provide is beyond anywhere else we have stayed.
We would recomend thisplace to everyone it was PERFECT! Thank you John and Sonya for a wonderful time even if we were a little unexpected!!

We stayed at Avocado Grove with another couple in order to visit nearby French restaurant, Le Relais Bresson, for a celebratory dinner. The beautifully appointed lounge and terrace gave each couple plenty of room to be together for coffee or champagne, while still having plenty of space and independence in our lovely bedrooms. John and Sonya were delightful hosts who provided us with little luxuries like champagne flutes (those of you who have had to resort to bathroom glasses for champagne or wine while travelling would appreciate this point) and a beautifully rich fruit cake with coffee on arrival. John very kindly drove us to the restaurant and arranged our return. Breakfast on the terrace, surrounded by plants and birds, was highlighted by a yummy fresh avocado each to smother on our toast as well as all the other things a good home cooked meal entails. The care John and Sonya took of us in their lovely home made our stay a real pleasure.

We had a simply wonderful weekend at Avocado Grove and can't recommend it highly enough. The property is set in a quiet, scenic location with great views. We had our small dog with us and he was made to feel just as welcome and at home as we were. We stayed in the Sharwil suite on the ground floor and it was just perfect for us. The room was spacious, clean, and wonderfully appointed. We had a lovely dinner in our room on the first night and enjoyed it so much we ate there on our 2nd night too. Our little dog could be with us at all times so we never had to leave him alone in a new place. The food is wonderful, don't miss out on the great dinners during your stay. Breakfast was delicious also, so much great food. We had a wonderful, relaxing time at Avocado Grove and will definitely be back.
