When we are ordered trip to Konakli, where this hotel is placed, tour agency presented quite fine photos and did very good intro, offering us this hotel as Ultra-All-Inclusive concept. We were going for a business kind of trip, to work remotely, so we wanted to have some level of comfort to accommodate 8 people, one of them 3.5 years old little girl. Another condition we had is permanent internet access via WI FI from all areas of the hotel, especially in hotel rooms.

Keep in mind, Konakli is about 3 hours driving from the Antalya airport, well, the crazy bus driver can get you to the hotel even faster, but it will make you worried for yourself and your kid. You will have just one stop for 15 mins to go to a bathroom and buy some water, which cost 2.50 lira (instead regular 0.5), but for tourists that doesn't know it, it's just fine.

So after a long, tiring road, you finally get to the hotel having a short walk from the bus to the lobby area on +40 Celsium (+104F), guess what lobby area is not air-conditioned, not the next day, not another day, it's just like this your whole stay. I have to admit it does cools down to +36C during the night...

Lifts/Elevators whatever you want to call them in your home English, are also not air-conditioned, max load 5 people, all sweat next to you. All these Russians that trying to get to the lift in front of you, don't try to be polite to anyone, just grab your lift, otherwise they will get it and you will reach your 4th floor in next 30 mins if you don't act.

Finally you reach your room and it is so small, you requested king bed and a bed for a kid and they give you some 140cm wide, tiny bed and a crib for infants... Room is so small that barely can walk there alone, not talking about 2 adults in the same room.

Obviously, you are overheated as well, trying to start air conditioner, what a surprise, it doesn't work. You pressing chaotically all buttons on remote control, but AC is dead, so you have to call to Reception to get someone upstairs to fix the AC, in 10 mins he comes and fixes. Later you find out that rest of your team having the same issue.

Your AC will die few times during your stay, and they will come to fix it, sometimes AC starts leaking water right on the floor and you wake up in the middle of the night and having your very own private swimming pool, don't worry, it will dry out by itself with time.

By tine of your arrival you already missed the lunch and although it is Utra-All-Inclusive, it happens that there is no other food except those 3 times a day, no snack bars or something that you are used to in other same theme hotels. So having you baby hungry it is your headache now, btw, there is a place across the road - Happy Corner, safe to eat, blazing fast WI FI for free and very friendly staff.

At 7PM they open doors to a restaurant that you will be visiting your whole trip for 3 times a day and you will be eating the same damn food every day, sometimes leftovers from the previous days. Stay away from sweets, cakes and other kind of the bakery, at least taste little piece before eating, same with milk...

Try not to be late to your meals, there is no 'refill', if you came late, Russians (that are 95% in this hotel) most likely eat it all. They don't cook for every customer in the hotel, they cook on approximation, so if you come after 8PM, you will have very little choice of food. The very last evening we had to eat at Happy Corner mentioned above, and the next morning before leaving we had just tea, because this creepy food was already unbearable.

Internet connectivity... Yea, right... There are 4 access points in the hotel, even on the sea side. Just none of them works, your Grandma's GPRS on old Nokia works faster... WI FI in the room promised by the agency and advertised by the hotel? It was a joke, you wont have any. If you are somewhere in the lobby area, you might get luck to connect to one access point, but don't dream to upload some pics on facebook, it just wont work. Texting will do the job, why do you need pics?

Okay, if you really need internet connectivity for your work, leave the hotel, cross the road and on opposite side about 200 meters away you will have that Happy Corner i mentioned earlier, WI FI just works, fast, with good bandwidth, i managed to upload hundreds of pics at one shot with no headache, i guess it would take me few days in the hotel...

Additional tours/Upselling. Your agent/representative in the hotel most likely will try to sell you all kinds of fun activities, like going to a water park and so on. Hold on your horses, don't buy anything from them, it will save you a lot of money. Exit the hotel main entrance (not the one to the pool), look across the road, see huge sign on the building roof in front of you, it says Tourist Agency? That's right, it's like 100 meters walking. So go there and get all your fun trips twice cheaper. You see, i just saved you bunch of money.

Little things. If you need to buy some food, yogurts for kid or whatever else, or wants to have Turkish sweets like lookoum for the real price, there is Migros store just 300 meters away from the hotel, just cross the street and walk straight about 300 meters and you will see it on the left.

Magnets and souvenirs you can buy from the store vis-a-vis of Happy Corner place, they have two floors of fancy things for okay price, trust me in all other places you will pay more.

Always pay in Lira, when asking for the price, always ask price in Lira, - it is cheaper this way. You might be in love with your home currency and maybe even proud of it, but seriously, pay in Lira. You can get it from the ATM right next to you. in 100 meters from the hotel you have at least 4 different banks with ATMs. Wanna carry money on you, carry Lira, not whatever else you use back home.

If you wanna do shopping, do take a trip to Alanya, by bus (bus stop is right next to the hotel) it will take you like 3 lira per person ($1.5), it takes about 20 mins to get there and you have buses until 1AM. Final bus stop is at Otogara (bus station) place with tons of shops. LC Waikiki is on the corner.

Another thing, as i mentioned above Russians are 95% of the guests there, only Reception personnel speaks English, rest are only Russian language, so you are on your own, whatever you will try to ask, answer will be instantly in Russian. Russians will talk to you in the lift to press a button for them or for whatever else reason, they don't know any other language, well, they don't need to, they are are, what are you doing in this hotel is the real question.
