“Amazing location!!”
Reviewed 28 December 2014 for a stay in May 2014

Deimori La Massa is a beautiful place to celabrate your holiday. The location in the valley of Casentino is perfect and quiet. In the surrounding area the nature is beautiful as well. The host Daniele is a perfect host and a very nice person. His knowledge of the area is big and gives you very good tips what to do and were to travel. The nearby Castel of Poppi is amazing.
Also is Daniele a very good cook and he makes delicious Italian meals for you. You pay a litle amount for a meal. We like to think that is very special and rare.
The vacation home is full amanaties and is very spacious and clean. The Wifi is fast and stabile. The swimmingpool is just great and you can cool of when you are a little hot from the Tuscan sun. The beds by the pool are super relaxing. Give this location a try and experience the true Italian life!! We are most certainly comming back to this perfect holiday adress with a perfect host!

“Comfort, tranquillity, beauty!”
Reviewed 11 December 2014 for a stay in September 2014

I have stayed at ten different rental units in Italy since 2002. From apartments, to farming co-ops, to country homes. I found them all on VRBO. My number one favorite? DeiMori La Massa! Why? I don’t know where to begin. From the convenience, beauty and privacy of the location, to the “at home” comfort of DeiMori La Massa itself and to the welcoming, funny and gregarious personality of Daniele. I would not change a thing.

Daniele even lent us his personal IPOD so we could hear very specific music we asked for. I think there are move DVD’s to watch then movies I have seen in my whole life, but I have to admit, we didn’t watch one. Who would watch a movie when you can sit out on the patio and watch (sketch, photograph, absorb) sunrises, sunsets, and experience mother earth bombarding you with beauty, which I can still see in my mind and fragrances I can still smell in my nostrils.

The kitchen was so well equipped we were able to cook full meals on the days we just refused to leave the beauty of DeiMori La Massa.

Looking back now, all I conjure up is the absolute beauty, tranquility and comfort of DeiMori. If I think hard, I can remember the long and exhausting flight from the U.S., suffering from jet lag, having to wait at the airport for 2 hours in Rome for our rental car, 4 women and 8 suitcases crammed in an Opal for the 4 hour drive. As we pulled up to the house, as grumpy as we all were, our mouths were open with amazement that this was our home for the next two weeks. After a good night’s rest in super comfortable beds, and a day napping by the pool, all thoughts of that first day of travel evaporated from our minds until this very moment as I write this. I hadn’t thought about that part since that first day.

We were four adult women, and we all felt like we had privacy when we wanted it, yet a family living area to share. We never ate one meal, (breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner or cocktail hour) in the house! The patio was just to inviting.

We still talk about how we wish we had spent more time with Daniele. He was not intrusive or around all the time, yet we could tell he was genuinely concerned that our every need was met. If he had to be away, he made sure charming sister Daniella checked in on us to make sure we didn’t need anything.
A car is required to get to and from the house, but for us it was part of the fun of exploring. Even if only driving to train stations!

We were able to take a day trip to Venice, and could have done a day trip to Rome, (a long day), but we opted for a 3 night stay in Rome. My point here is how centrally located DeiMori is. Once at the train station, all of Italy is at your disposal.

DeiMori is surrounded by nature, and you can feel it in the house as well as outside. From the power and water for use in the house, to the cooling effects of the windows and shutters, renewable energy is at play. It was eye opening to experience how much one could do to help the earth with modern energy techniques at DeiMori. And it was embarrassing as well to be an American and know we have fallen so short compared to DeiMori.

I must go back. That is just a fact of life I have come to terms with. DeiMori’s siren song is part of my soul now!

“Paradiso Vertelli.... La Massa.”
Reviewed 9 December 2014 for a stay in August 2014

After booking this property for a holiday in Tuscany, on arrival we were just in awe. It was all and so much more than I could have hoped for. Everything you see on website is true and as is...if not even better by the time you get there. The detailed driving intructions and GPS info is invaluable when driving in. Our Host Danny was the most welcoming happy man. We instantly said we felt like we returned to see a family friend rather than meet our Host for the first time. He couldn't do enough for us and has so much knowledge and info on the area, your needs and things to do, places to eat etc. Anything you perchance can't work out for yourself Danny will have the answer. The home was lovely well kept, well presented and very clean...a must. Nothing was too much trouble. On arrival home made bread, cheeses, meats etc were left for us also to get us into the local foods. Just great. The summer heat was just that but the cooling off in your own pool was the relaxing parts of the day. So much to go see and do and we loved village life and shopping. All things easily accessible and with Danny guiding you , you won't go wrong. We all felt so at home and so very relaxed staying here and if anything it's now a huge dream to come back to La Massa as soon as we can manage it. The in house cooking lesson with Danny's Mum was a great way to spend an afternoon. We all loved it and it was easy and relaxing also, and sooooooo much fun and lots of laughs. Dinner that night had been made by us all. This was very special as an avid cook and lover of all things Italian I couldn't have been happier. La Massa is an experience not to be missed and unlike rushed holidays you can choose what to do when to do it and it's just so wonderful. Much to see in the area and much we still have to see. We will be back.

“Little Paradise”
Reviewed 13 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Our stay at Dei Mori La Massa was one to remember! The house is very cosy but a good size and full kitchen. The pool is lovely and the water is good quality, warm as wel. The watertemperature was round 28 celcius. In the house there is good waterpresure and has everything you need! The location is perfect in the valley of Casentino. The views are stunning. The road to La Massa at Vertelli is short and good to drive by car.
The owner, Danny, is a perfect host and gives you very good tips for everything! He makes his home also your home, we think that's a gift. The road to Firenze is very nice also wirh great views of the valley. We had a great time and want to thank Danny for a very relaxing vacation!
We will be back some day!

“Paradise found”
Reviewed 4 June 2011 for a stay in May 2011

We had a most enjoyable stay at La Massa.

We were greeted and welcomed by Danny, who could not have been more pleasant or helpful. We were given freshly baked bread made by Danny, and a delicious fruit cake made by Peter.

La Massa really is a wonderful retreat. The only sounds to be heard are those of the birds, mostly the cuckoo, and the views are so calming.

If you are looking for peace and tranquility, then this is certainly the place to be.
Our only regret is that we didn't stay for longer.

Thanks again Peter and Danny, you were great hosts.

“Wonderful week in Tuscany.”
Reviewed 2 June 2011 for a stay in May 2011

DeiMori La Massa was even better than advertised. The setting was picture-perfect. Rooms were large, bright and comfortably furnished; kitchen and bathrooms were modern; all were clean and neat. The patio, porch, and poolside had ample tables, chairs, lounges, and umbrellas for comfortable outdoor leisure. No disappointments. None.

Best of all were the charming hosts, Peter Gosmore and Danny DeiMori, who treated us as pampered guests. Wine and cheese were waiting for us when we arrived. Peter took us on impromptu tours of interesting nearby sights and destinations that we would not otherwise have discovered and made reservations for us in outstanding local restaurants. Danny's mother showed us how to make pasta and gnocci and demonstrated by making us a delicious lunch.

We have wonderful memories and were truly sorry when it was time to leave.
