Hidden Canopy Treehouses has been the best place we have ever stayed in. We had chosen to spend part of our honeymoon here based on a long search of other accomodations on Trip Advisor. All the reviews of Hidden Canopy were true and in fact our experience exceeded our high expectations. What made us feel most special was the owner Jennifer King, who made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. She was both extremely hospitable and knowledgable. She treats her clients as she would guests in her home. On the first night, she sat down with us to help us plan our itinerary of tours we would want to join. She had suggestions from companies she had handpicked from ones she felt met her standards of safety, cleanliness and fun. All her choices were excellent. She and her staff took on all the responsibility of booking and organizing the tours, including pickup from reception. The complimentary Afternoon Tea each day with the other 12 house guests gave us the chance to enjoy the sunset and exchange ideas and recommendations for the next day. This also fostered the at ¨home feeling¨. The location of Hidden Canopy while slightly remote, as the name suggests, is a $7USD cab ride from most tourist offices and restaurants. The location also affords the privacy and peacefulness guests are looking for to de stress. Our treehouse, Eden, equipped with fireplace and jacuzzi, was absolutely beautiful. Having a soak inside, but completely surrounded by trees was a very unique experience. In many ways, Jenn and her staff went far and beyond the call of duty from ordering in food for our first evening, to suggesting appropriate footwear for ziplining, to inviting us to watch ¨So you think you can Dance¨ on Monday night. For a very special and memorable experience in Costa Rica, make sure you include Hidden Canopy!

Stayed here in November 2009 in the 'Eden' room. Very memorable and great fun. The room was indeed a treehouse, teak wood I think it was, 2 floors, with a jacuzzi and a living room upstairs. The tasteful design and secluded feel made us regret not staying longer. The staff were very kind and knowledgable about the local area, and the food was good also. The whole place is a labour of love for the owner, really paying attention to detail, so there are numerous small surprises to be found. Sometimes I felt like I was in an episode of MTV Cribs. So all in all, a great stay and I would recommend this place for couples or small families.

Jennifer King has a hotel and staff that is the BEST! The views, quiet location, personal attention, exquisite custom built rooms are borderline 11. Jen talked with us like we were old friends and even took us on a tour and ate lunch with us. We had the option to eat dinner for just the two of us and at the last minute 8 more tenants decided to join in. What an amazing feat for 2 cooks and Jen helping. I have never seen so much effort to make a stay so special. We left with a book Jen recommended I read and also 2 large teak frames to frame our own Monteverde coffee bags! No resort could ever do all the special things that Jennifer does.

Do not stay anywhere else!!! Upon arriving to the "Tree House" we were greeted with a glass of wine and one of the most amazing sunsets I have ever seen. From the staff to the rooms to the location and afternoon tea we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Costa Rica.

And we just came from "Tabacon"!!! If Tabacon is a 5 star hotel Hidden Canopy is a 10!!

I can't imagine having stayed anywhere other than the Hidden Canopy Treehouses while in the Monteverde area. I booked this B&B when searching for a place to stay in the area during our honeymoon. None of the other area hotels gave me the honeymoon "vibe" I was looking for, and then I just happened to hit the B&B tab on Tripadvisor and found this beautiful gem!

The experience did NOT disappoint. We stayed in the Eden treehouse, which was gorgeous and perfect for a honeymoon. Jennifer, the owner, was a gracious host, and the other employees there were so friendly and helpful. Jenn helped us book excursions (personally, we would recommend ziplining and the hanging bridges, but were personally not big fans of the insect museum.) We also ate lunch and dinner at the hotel on two different occasions, and it was delicious! Some of the best food we had in Monteverde. Jenn also recommended some restaurants to us, but we ended up exploring on our own because it seemed we were looking for more of a local feel than what some of the places seemed to be offering, and we really enjoyed our lunch one day at La Tierra y El Mar in Santa Elena (pardon the misspellings if there are any.)

Anyway, back to the B&B -- it was beautiful, we loved the animals there, and the location was perfect...out of town so it was nice and quiet, but close enough to be an easy drive. I would definitely recommend renting a car for your visit to Costa Rica. We personally would have gone crazy on a bus. :)

If we ever go back to the Monteverde area I would definitely stay at the Hidden Canopy Treehouses Boutique Hotel again. Enjoy!
