We had alot of fun here and definitely got our fill of rain forest exploration. It wasn't crowded at all and our small group only crossed 2 other groups the full 3-4 hours we were in the forest. Highly recommend. Just make sure you have a great guide - I assume that makes all the difference.

My family did a private tour in Monteverde Cloud Forest last year and it was great, but very crowded. We read good reviews about Curi Cancha and decided to give it a try - I'm very happy we did! We hired a private guide, Danilo, who was amaing! He was very knowledgeable, accommodating, and patient with our 6-year-old who asks a million questions. He ended up extending the length of the tour because we saw so many cool things. I would highly recommend Danilo and Curi Cancha!

This beautiful reserve offers wonderful guides. Of the many 60+ things to do in Monteverde, we were on a strict budget and were more interested in seeing wildlife than paying through the nose for expensive 'thrill seeking' zip lines and bungies. We're from New Zealand and have enough of that there. We did a Night Tour elsewhere, but it didn't come close to Curi Cancha Reserve in the daytime.

Go with a guide, they live breath and feel the forest so can point out things you simply will not see.
We highly recommend Danilo, as our informative, fun and passionate guide, this place should be the #1 go to in Monteverde for those wildlife enthusiasts and bird watching fanatics. He could not only hear and mimic an unbelievable variety of bird calls.

We saw a large variety of hummingbirds in the garden, which was one of my most magical experiences to date. We saw a tarantula, a wide range of birds including two male black manakins singing (its rare to see two males together), a rare red deer, many agoutis (large rat animals).

Although not everyone is guaranteed to see a Toucan or the rare and wondrous Quetzal, we were most lucky to see the latter - one visitor said it was his 6th attempt in his five month stay in Costa Rica to see the beautiful, elusive bird.

This was by far the highlight as the two guides collaborated as to the location of the Quetzal. They were able to follow its call, track it as it moved up and down the cloud forest, and set up a telescope for up to ten visitors to see its beautiful plumage. The run through the forest for us was much more exhilirating than any zip line, and seeing the faces of both guides light up like children's in excitement, this was magical.

We were even able to film it through a telescope, as well as capture the manakins singing and many varieties of hummingbirds, which you can see on the link below in my vimeo page.

Many thanks and take home message - GO to Curi Cancha Reserve for wildlife, you will NOT regret it.

We saw so many awesome animals and birds! Also the reserve is just beautiful. Very peaceful and lush and relaxing. Definitely get a guide, as they can pick out things that you wouldn't even know to look for. We went with Christian, and he was fantastic!

What a beautiful place. We went with a guide who was excellent. His name was Danilla. We saw quite a few different birds and animals. Would go back there again
