“Loved It!”
Reviewed 19 August 2013

We have just returned from a weeks stay at Bizimtepe. On arrival in the early hours of the morning the room was very dissapointing! I asked to be moved and the manager said they where full. As stated before the rooms are VERY basic! We had one of the back rooms with no view and only a white washed wall to look at. In the morning the whole place seemed different, the pool was great and clean, the family that run this place make you feel like you are at home with them. They go out of their way to make you feel at home. We got moved 3 days later to one of the front rooms which was identical but had a better view. The beds are ok and the showers have minds of their own. The towels vary in shades of white but are always clean. To be honest we didn't spend any time in the room only to wash and sleep as their terrace where you have breakfast is a great place just to sit at night and chill, they will give you the wifi code and let you use it for free, great for the kids. You may get woken up during the early hours by 'Prayer Call', it doesn't last long and you soon get back to sleep. There are a lot of steps up to the differnt levels of the hotel and be careful as they are wet most of the time due to the pipes from the air conditioning units pumping out the water, I did slip and bruised my arm.
You will be charged £30.00 for the air conditioning for the week, but this only works when you are in the room and the key is in the slot that enables the electric to come on. Safe deposit boxes are £15.00 per week - we didn't bother as it felt very safe there. The breakfst is Turkish - bread, olives, ham, hard boiled eggs, cheese, jam and butter with salad, served from 8-10 but it is usually about 10.15 they stop. We ate a lot of our meals here and they where very nice and tasty. They let you run up a tab for food and drink.
The beach is basically just over the road down 1 of 3 roads. The beach is very crowded with sun loungers right up to the waters edge. It is shingle not sand with pebbles, so take your beach shoes. You can use the loungers if you buy a drink or lunch from the restaurant they are in front of. The sea is quite shallow and shelves slowly.

There is small shop underneath the hotel and a supermarket 5 mins walk down the road. It is quiet at night with nothing around but you can get the bus into Turgerites for 3.5 lira each way and here you have got all the tourist shops and restaurants you can want! - takes about 15 mins. We went turkish baths in Gumbert and did a boat trip also from Gumbert - we enjoyed both of these trips. You can also get the bus into Bodrum for 5.5 lira each way and its so easy to find your way around, just be careful where you eat in Bodrum as the Harbour is very expensive for the fresh fish as we found out!!

All in all you take this little hotel to your heart and feel like you have had a break with some long lost turkish family you didnt know you had! - would we go back? yes we would as long as the same people are running the place.

This was my first time in Turkey and what a fantastic holiday I had. I couldn't have picked a cleaner hotel with the most amazing views of the clear blue sea. The hotel manager was one of the most friendliest people I have ever come across he went above and beyond to help me with anything that I needed and he was amazing. The surroundings were beautiful and peaceful and I would most definitely stay there again if I visit Turkey in the future Pascal

when arriving at bizimtepe hotel i was a little apprehensive due to some of the reviews i had read. But as soon as we were introduced to the manager and were met by the grandchildren who took our cases their beaming smiles took all my fears away.the rooms were basic but clean and that was what worried me.Every morning we were met with a warm greeting and offers of tea.the breakfast was continental but lovely.I did point out that i didnt realize they did british breakfast and evening meals as there were no menus on display. The meals were very tasty and great value for money. The area was quiet but as others stated in easy reach of Turgutreis and Bodrum. By the way great boat trips to the North and South islands costing 40L each Bargin. also great turkish .baths in bodrum. S0 my final words are great little gem of a hotel for the money. if your looking for a cheap holiday you cant go wrong with Bizimtepe.

From reading reviews before going to bizimtepe hotel we were worried about what our holiday would be like, however when we arrived at the hotel we were pleasantly suprised. Rooms were basic but clean, we also had a balcony that had a beautiful seaview. we mostly ate our meals at the hotel as food was cooked well and was tasty, reasonably priced also. A few times we asked for food that wasnt on the menu and they still managed to rustle something up, they also would often give us fruit and desserts from them. The pool area was clean and had many sunbeds. The best bit about our holiday was the homley feel from staff and the family. İ had an ear infection whilst i was on holiday and staff were very attentive ensuring that i knew where the Doctors were and giving me painkillers if i ran out. throughout our stay we were happy and felt at home. Thankyou to everyone at Bizimtepe hotel for making our holiday great !!

Having read the reviews we were intrigued - 5 stars or 1 star! Well, we had a 5 Star holiday at this small, budget hotel in Akyarlar. The staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble for them, making us feel relaxed and almost like part of a family - so welcoming, generous and good-natured. The rooms were basic, but clean and freshly painted. Sheets and towels were replaced frequently and we had no insect visitors in the room or en-suite. The food was delicious, with complimentary dessert, the pool was sparkling clean and the views lovely. It IS a bit out-of-town, but that means that you can more easily choose the delights of Turgutreis or Bodrum and Gumbet, by hire-car or dolmus (3.5 or 5.5 lira pp). There are two good beaches within 5 to 10 mins walk, a harbour and numerous Restaurants. Sun beds are free if you purchase a drink or two, or food. This is the best-value budget holiday Hotel ever!

Room Tip: Ask for sea-view rooms if available. Other than ground floor there are quite a few steps to all roo...

This hotel was a great experience! We were made to feel so welcome! Yes the rooms are basic but they were clean and comfortable, no frills no fuss, no creepy crawlies just a nice white freshly painted room with ensuite and balcony with beautiful sea views. The staff were so friendly, helpful and fun that they made each day a pleasure. The atmosphere was relaxed, laid back and we were waited on hand and foot. The chef was excellent, we ate at the hotel most days and in the evenings and enjoyed every meal. We were made to feel very at home and by the end of our two weeks holiday we felt like we were staying with family! The pool is beautiful and very clean. The staff deserve huge credit for bringing this hotel back to life and creating a very special place to chill out. Thank you to you all for your wonderful hospitality, warmth and humour, we highly recommend this hotel for simple, value for money great holidays!

Room Tip: Ask for sea view on second floor or third floor if you can manage a fair few steps, if not or with c...
