“First rate, family hotel.”

We have just returned from a week at the Yucelen. A clean, organised, well run hotel with polite, helpful staff at the bar, in the restaurant and at reception. We arrived at 1am and were met by a switched onl receptionist. European voices everywhere : German, Swedish, English, French etc. Cosmopolitan/European. A lovely family hotel with a lovely breakfast atmosphere & delightful waiters. Breakfast looks out onto the beach/water where the breeze/wind direction is analysed by the kitesurfers. I ate fresh black olives with local cucumber, tomato, bread, olive oil and honeycomb every day. Delicious coffee too. Safe for teenagers to walk into town alone to buy ice cream/doritos/ice tea and the local restaurants were welcoming and willing to adapt the menu. And the sweetest maid! We all enjoyed our stay. Missing you already!

Room Tip: Two boys age 15 & 13 shared a regular twin and my husband and I had a luxury room. The rooms we...

Have just returned from a week in Yucelen last night. Excellent hotel right on the beach, beautiful scenery, spotless, staff courteous, friendly, but not intrusive, very relaxing atmosphere. We're family with 2 children and felt very safe there, only did B&B but going back next year for all inclusive. Mixture of nationalities - the hotel was busy but never felt over crowded. Definitely recommend!

We stayed here for one night after driving down the coast of Turkey and pulling off the main highway to find a quaint little place not over run with tourists. Well, what we found was a little gem situated in the heart of Akyaka but not noisy at all. The rooms were gorgeous, the breakfast great and the grounds were absolutely stunning. Egbert was most helpful in helping us decide where to eat and sights to see around the region. This hotel was a wonderful find!

Thanks for everything, Egbert!!

We stayed at this hotel on a kitesurfing holiday in July 2010. It's a lovely hotel right in the centre of town with three lovely swimming pools. The settings is great and the place is very well looked after. The staff are very helpful. Evenings we're spent sitting by the pool but there were times when we couldn't get a table outside as this was very popular. We ate out in the evening as the town has so many great restaurants. The hotel was very family orientated with lots of different nationalities and only a handful of Brits. The rooms were good and very clean. Nothing negative to say about this place but it definitely appeals to families. The town is great and we had a brilliant holiday and we're going back again in 2013. But mainly for the kitesurfing which is fantastic.

My partner and myself stayed in the Yucelen hotel for a week in October and had a lovely stay. The cleanliness of the hotel is outstanding and it provides a relaxed atmosphere in the pleasant environment of its pools and gardens which are beautifully maintained. If we were looking to book another relaxing holiday in Turkey we would not hesitate to rebook here. There are however a few points that the hotel could improve on: it was marketed to us as having a gym/ fitness centre, which really it shouldn't have been as the equipment was so limited. The pools are only open from 10.00-19.00 and could definitely do with opening earlier for those who want an early morning swim uninterrupted by children. We got a bit irritated as the hotel never seemed to have any change for larger lira notes which was an inconvenience as by charging everything to our room it was harder to budget. As there are many stray dogs walking around the complex of the hotel we would not recommend it to those afraid of dogs, even as an animal lover I found them to be fairly imposing and a nuisance at times. I would also recommend that people learn some basic Turkish (thank you, to ask for the bill etc) as the English of the staff is fairly limited- the hotel seems to have a very large German clientel! Overall if you are looking for a tranquil environment to spend a few weeks this is a wonderful hotel full of character in a very scenic location and we would not hesitate to recommend it to friends looking for this in a holiday (out of European summer holiday time as we can imagine it becomes very busy then!)

We have just returned from this lovely hotel, we have been numerous times and it didn,t disappoint, the restaurant staff our wonderful,. and make us feel very special.
The food was great especially in the a la carte restaurant were Buharn takes care to make your meal a very special occasion.
To be a little picky I did notice a slight lowering of standards from last year though the barman was very good, female staff left a lot to be desired, when they start spraying deoderant under their arms, and carrying on mobile phone conversations and eating their lunch while you are waiting to be served is not a good impression for guests, and should be rectified..
the lovely gardens looked like they have been neglected a little which is a great shame as we love this hotel very much. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and we will be back.

Room Tip: The rooms over the stream are charming .

Just.returned from a 2 week inclusive stay at the best hotel in Akyaka. We have been quite a few times over the last few years,I love this hotel so im probably the wrong person to review it but i will try to be objective. Its located in simply the best spot on the bay the beach though small is ideal and shelves out very gradually so is very safe and makes it easy for swimming.I think the staff make a huge contribution to the attraction of staying here the staff in the restaurants are superb friendly efficient smartly dressed Osman the head waiter in the main terrace restaurant oversees his staff with a keen eye and deals with any problems quickly and efficiently.Though they are few and his staff are excellent the service we recieve is outstanding.Upstairs in the a-la-carte restaurant Buhran the head waiter is simply outstanding and of all the restaurants i have been in all around the world he comes high up the list for attention to detail ,during your stay you must use this restaurant. Its reasonbly priced and of avery high standard i recomend the steaks or the lamb chops. We stayed on the all inclusive option but ithink really the best option is bed and breakfast so you can go and eat in the village which although only small has some very good and intresting restaurants and use the a-la carte restaurant in the hotel though you may have to book in advance during busy periods.I am relucant to critisice this hotel as i have always had excellent service and happy holidays here and have returned many times but here are a few observations. There has been critisim of the pool opening times and i must agree that 10 o'clock is too late and ithink 9 or even earlier would be better. Some of the young femail bar staff are letting the other staff down ,not wearing the simple uniform and wearing coloured jeans ,and ignoring customers while carrying on their conversation or using their phones, just like shop assistants back home..We travelled independently and the taxi transfer from Dalaman to Akyaka is £45 which if there is 4 people is good value and alot quicker than coaches also there is no need to pre-book the airport transfer as there are always plenty of local taxis and the prices are displayed on a board.Dont be put off by these small critisims because this hotel is lovely. There is an increasing number of gernan guests and although we get on with most people they do tend to stick togher so you can feel isolated, and ithink this might deter some english from returning. We travelled with jet-2 which is supposed to be a cheap airline but by the time youve paid all the extras it really is the EXPENSIVE airline be warned plus there in flight toasted cheese and onion toastie at £4 was a disgrace. The Yucelen has a guest rep called Egbert who is very good and will endever to sort any problems and has a very good knowledge of Turkey and this area and can recommend trips etc.The boat trips from the harbour are very good and a must do at least once, although they include lunch the food is not always the best so order a luch box from reception so you have an option as you are on the boat most of the day and theres nowhere to buy food altough drinks are available.I would recommend Captain 2 they say its the noisy boat but its bigger smarter than Captain 1 which we enjoyed but is more expensive and to me it isnt justified

Room Tip: We like the older rooms overlookig the stream with the ducks but as people have to pass this point y...
