We returned from this hotel a couple of weeks ago and although we didn't allow it to ruin our holiday this hotel is just not what it says it is. I'll start with the positives. Architecturally this hotel is beautiful and the bedrooms are lovely. The pool area is gorgeous and there is a lovely beach. The play areas are fantastic for children and the animation team are the best I have seen in years and they deserve an accolade.
However if you are someone used to going to a 5 star hotel this is definitely not the place for you. In the main restaurant the food is pretty poor. You'll be fine if you're happy to live off salad and overcooked vegetables but the meat is poor quality and disguised in casseroles. Even basic dishes like spaghetti bolognese were wet and tasteless. There is a mountain of food but a good deal of it is just not appetising. If they were grilling steaks or chicken they were so slow that you got fed up of waiting and made do with something else. There was always a queue for anything that was decent because they wouldn't cook more than about 6 steaks at a time. By the end of the week it became apparent that the slow down was done on purpose so they wouldn't have dished up too much of the pricier produce. Just not a pleasant dining experience. The A La Carte restaurants are marginally better but they haven't got that right either because although there are several of them, each one is only open one night and they are just converted meeting rooms not actual restaurants.

However the worst of this hotel is the service. It is by far the worst I have seen in years and is pretty much non existent. There are a few very good waiters and waitresses but the majority are untrained and lazy. They have absolutely no concept of what service is. At first I thought the hotel was just understaffed but it soon became apparent this wasn't the case. In the restaurant, tables are not cleared quickly enough and NEVER reset. If we went to a table that had been vacated it would always have a dirty tablecloth and no cutlery. At every meal I had to go searching for cutlery. I did comment to my partner that in the week we were there I only found a teaspoon twice and one of those was on the floor. At breakfast I had to go searching for tea bags as they weren't restocked quickly enough. Also in this hotel, be prepared that you have to queue for everything. The bars, the snack areas, ice cream. If you do sit in the Pool Bar there is waiter service but you're lucky if you ever get it. One afternoon we ordered drinks 3 times and eventually gave up. We finally accepted we should queue because at least the barmen would good and seemed to know what they were doing. A queue in a 5 star hotel should be an exception not something you see ALL the time. There were however 2 people who I want to say were really good. Ismail Yoce who seemed to work everywhere in the hotel and Berrin who works in the beach restaurant. They were both excellent. But there are about 1000 people in this hotel, should I be commenting on just 2 ? That should give you a good insight.
There is one thing about the Royal Alhambra Palace that is worse to me than all the above comments. It is the toilets. Those that are used a lot, near the main restaurant, by the pool and on the beach were just not cleaned often enough and regularly stank of urine. I could not believe that a hotel purported to be 5 star could have a situation like this. So what I would say to everyone is, if you are expecting 5 star do not under any circumstances go to this hotel. For service I wouldn't even give it 3 stars.

We stayed at the Royal Alhambra for 7 nights. As we have 5 children we always need 2 rooms next to each other and plenty of space.
The rooms were excellent and for once we had lots of space and a fantastic bathroom. The whole hotel was spacious , immaculately clean and very well furnished, 100% a 5 star destination.
The pool area is fabulous and we never had a problem with sun loungers, always got 7 together as long as we were poolside by 9.30am. Food was really good, great quality and lots of choice. Entertainment was exceptional everyday and the kids used the fun fair every night.
One downside was the eastern European guests, who at meal times are a bit pushy, we had an issue on one occasion were we could not get a table together for evening meal, but we resolved it with the management and never had any other problems. The management were 5 star and we all felt that we were important to them. Definitely going back here as all of us loved the place.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are a must,

Just Terrible dont bother No customer service at all
complained every day and nothing was done managers
just wander around in white shirts not resolving any complaints/issues at all
What staff they have are rude and miserable
All bars and food outlets have customer ques ridiculous
Clear your own table at the restaurant if you can find one
No one is seating the customers!!!
No waiter service around pool
I am sorry to say this was not a holiday at all
Will never go back a waste of hard earned money

My wife and I stayed at the Royal Alhambra Palace for a week from 9-16 June. Overall we thought the hotel was fantastic. Nowhere is ever going to be 100% perfect but we couldn’t believe some of the negative reviews. Some people are so picky.
One thing we loved was the fact that we could come down for breakfast at 9 and put the towels out on the way down and always get really well positioned beds. No need to get up at the crack of dawn to beat the rush.
Yes the main restaurant was busy at times but we found that if we went through the first food area and headed to the seating out the back that we always found plenty of free, clean tables.
We tried 3 of the a la carte restaurants. Loved the Mexican and Turkish but found the Asian to be a little disappointing.
Drinks were good and my wife was really impressed with the mojitos.
We have tried a number of other 5 star hotels in the Antalya area and this one was on a par with the best of them. Would happily return.
