Just back from this wonderful hotel was first time we had gone back to the same hotel ever & it was even better than last year the food on offer is great something there for the fussiest of eaters, annimation team was diffrent from last year but they provided some good memories if you wanna join in they make you feel welcome but if you just wanna sit & chill they dont have a problem with that, everywhere around the hotel is spotlessly clean didnt find a problem getting a sunbed as long as you are down before 8ish recption area very helpful as are all the staff, they just cant do enough for you make you feel so welcome. Good mixture of English,German, Dutch & scandinavian people that all got on,hotel is fantasic value for money, met some great people out there & had a magical holday.

Excellent hotel , food was very good as was service and staff. Rooms clean and bright and wonderfully air conditioned. Beach bar an absolute bonus especially snacks and availability of loungers.
A la Carte restaurants to die for both food and service.
Prices vary but deducting airfares/transfers we stayed in July all inclusive for a room price £5 less than a Holiday Inn without breakfast.
Please contact for any information on hotel or area.

Have just returned from two weeks in Can Garden with partner & two teenagers. Teenagers had so much to do. The animators work very hard indeed to entertain everyone, the service at the bar is excellent and the food in the restaurant is very good with lots of choice. Pool a bit crowded but the beach is a welcome alternative.
All in all, a lovely place!

Myself, husband and 8 year old son spent two weeks from 21 June at the Can Garden Resort. The hotel was lovely, clean and modern. The staff where pleasant and friendly. The rooms where nice, balcony a bit on the small side but didnt really bother us as we dont spend much time on it. The food was ok, not the best we have had but we certainly didnt go hungry. The Fish restaurant was very nice and the Mediteranean restaurant was good too. The waiter showed us his home grown vegetables which are used in the restaurant and grown in the grounds of the hotel. The drinks were fine, not watered down and are cold which is just what you need as the weather was beautiful. You do have to be up early to get a bed round the pool but the beach isnt too far and there is a courtesy bus. The steps are not as bad as we expected from previous reviews. Outside the hotel are plenty of shops and the dolmus will stop outside if you want to go into Side.
Would i go again?
Turkey - definatly
Can Garden Resort - Maybe

The downside to the hotel is that the food isnt the best we have had on previous all inclusives and also the evening entertainment was the probably the worst we have ever had.

5 of us stayed at can garden resort for 7 nights from 21st-28th june. We had such a lovely time. The workers couldnt be any nicer. So helpful and couldnt do enough for you. Rooms were extremely clean and very spacious. Nice views from balcony. Maid cleaned and maintained the room to a good standard throughtout our stay. The food was good. Im a very picky eater but i always found something! Dont expect to find english breakfasts as its a muslim country so they dont eat pork. We took a boat trip to maragat market and waterfall, dont book through your travel agent, take a trip to beach on free bus that waits just outside hotel every half hour and go see the trip organisers near jetty and you will get the same trip for half the price! It was a great day out, cost included lunch on board. We also got a taxi for 15 euros to Side, cheap clothes, bags, purses, jewellry etc. I am used to caribbean holidays and didnt know what to expect but all i can say is i will definatly return!! Please say a big hello to "Serkan" who works in pinus restaurant for me.

We stayed at the Can Garden Resort for two weeks in June 2008, and had a lovely time but...

FLIGHTS
We travelled with ThompsonFly from Gatwick, and although the queue at Gatwick was large, it moved very quickly and we had checked in within 15 mins. Be warned that ThompsonFly now use the North Terminal at Gatwick which just cannot cope with so many flights, and the queues for food were around a 45 min wait!

ARRIVAL IN ANTALYA
Quick and easy arrival. Remember that you have to pay £10 to enter Turkey. It takes around 50-55mins to the hotel from the Airport.

HOTEL CHECK IN
Check in at the hotel was quick and easy, but this is where we had problem number 1. We had booked 2 rooms, but as we were all under the same surname the hotel advised us that we had to share one suite room for the first two nights of our stay. We agreed, but after the two nights, still no room! We only managed to get the additional room on the third night after compaining to Pat (the Thompson Rep). We have been told that the hotel do not overbook, but if they can save a room, they can then let out the room for the weekend to someone else. We got a free late check out, safe, and wine and friut in the room, but also got a free turkish bath and massage in the end!

ROOMS
The rooms are spotless, like the rest of the hotel, and the rooms are quite large (well the family suites are anyway). The balcony is small, but plenty of room for two.

POOL & BEACH
The pool area is very nice, but sunbeds are limited, and mostly saved by around 7.30am. The hotel have started to put signs out saying that you can only leave your sunbed for a maximum of 1 hour, otherwise your towels will be removed. We didn't see this happening but they did take a few sunshades from beds that weren't being used for over an hour. This isn't really on, as lunch can quite easily take over a hour, and at the end of the day, you should be able to do what you want on holiday!

The reason the hotel doesn't have many sunbeds is because the hotel also owns an area on the beach (10 min walk or a few mins in the minibus) which has plenty of sunbeds (shaded) and a beach bar/cafe which is included in the all inclusive. The music by the pool can be very loud during the day, but it is mostly when the entertainment team are playing games in the pool etc.

FOOD & DRINK
The food at the hotel is very good indeed. The food in the main restuarant (called the Pinus Restuarant!) is wonderful (breakfast, lunch, dinner and midnight snack) Two of the waiters, Rasim (Jimmy) and Omer are so nice and also so funny!. The Marina cafe/bar (pool bar) serves the normal burgers, chips, pizza etc - the pizza is lovely! The beach bar serves the same. The hotel also has two a la carte restuarants, and guests can visit each once during a stay. The drinks are quite limited, but cocktails ARE available free on some nights at the Terrace Bar, where the waitresses Fatma and Inca are so nice and top up your drinks as soon as you drink the last drop!

ENTERTAINMENT
The daytime entertainment is fine if you like water gym and darts. They also do beach volleyball on the beach and water polo. The eveing entertainment is quite simply - rubbish, although the water show which takes place every two weeks in the pool is good and worth a watch. Luckily the evening entertainment theatre is away from the main hotel in the gardens, so unless you are under 5, dont bother going.

HOTEL SHOPS & SPA
The shops in the hotel are fine, although it would seem that some are owned by the Spa people. The newsagent has everything you need, and is really nice. Everything here is in Euro, not Lira because the resort is mostly German and they use Euros! The photo man is a real pain, but because we wanted a nice picture we agreed to have some photos done. This took 45 mins with simply hundreds of photos taken. When done he will them try to sell you all of them. We only wanted a few, so as we only had a few, he was so rude to us and didn't want to know us. When collecting the photos, a couple of them were missing and he just happened not to know anything about them - you have been warned.

The spa is lovely and the turkish bath etc was amazing but...
We were in a group of four and after the massage, three of us just happened to be told that we had bad backs and that we needed to have a course of treatment. I realised straight away that it was a con, and suddenly I was told actualy my back was fine, but two of us need treatment. It is all a con, and several people we had spoken to, just happed to have the same problems!

STAFF
The majority of staff are lovely, especially Fatma and Inca in the Terrace Bar and Rasim (Jimmy) and Omer in the restuarant. but we found the staff at reception were all so rude and dont speak hardly any english. We went to reception for some additional toilet rolls and were asked by the reception manager "what do you want?"

RESORT (COLAKLI)
The resort is very nice, with a few shops and restuarants around 5 mins away, but be warned, this is a German resort, and they let you know it. Saying this, the Can Garden resort hotel is mostly English and Polish. In June it hit 40 degrees, which was very hot, so good luck if you are going in July!

TRIPS
We did one trip with Thompson, which was the waterfalls and market trip which takes place every Monday and Thursday. The trip was really good. You go to a fixed price store first, then the lovely waterfall. From here you go the a massive market for a couple of hours, but you have to haggle - it really is fun, and we got a nice bag which started at 45euro and we got it for 7euro. You then take a boat trip (food included) from the town to the sea. Overall a really nice day and a great guide who spoke very good english and told some funny jokes too!

We also traved by bus into Side, which was nice and only 10-15 mins by Dolmus (Turkish buses), which have to be seen to be believed - in a good way though! They run every 10 mins from Colakli (where the hotel is) to the Side bus station. In Side you find the normal shops (time to haggle again!) and plenty of bars and restuarants by the harbour.

OVERALL
A lovely clean hotel, let down by a few people and mis-management.
