In March 2013, I stayed here overnight on my way from Amman to Aqaba. The facilities are first rate and the reception staff most helpful even at 02:00, when I arrived.
I wanted to bathe in the Dead Sea (swimming is not on the agenda) and the hotel has a small beach that is an easy walk from the main terrace. There was a life guard, who also prepared Dead Sea Mud for you to take away or use it there and then. Warning!! do not splash about, getting this 'water' (its a cocktail or minerals) in your eyes will sting, but getting it up my nose caused me severe discomfort all day. I showered and then had a leisurely swim in the heated outdoor pool, heaven. The terraces all have swimming and relaxing areas, it looks as if the beach area is still being developed. I loved it.
Breakfast was huge, with a very large choice, service was not great.
The downside, all of the hotels are 'resorts' for a reason; there is NOTHING else around. I saw one restaurant (a chain) along the main road, walkable.
For a relaxing few days, this would be fine, Mount Nebo and Amman are about an hour away.

This is a great facility, recently completed or renovated. Staff were very efficient and very friendly and the room was perfect and spacious. There is a small beach with direct access to the Dead Sea, with mud pots to use for free and plenty of showers nearby (you need to shower as soon as you get out of the water to get rid of the salt). Less pretentious than other hotels such as the Movenpick.
Food a la carte is expensive and the buffet is not great. Overall it is a great choice for a few days in the Dead Sea because of the location.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms on the ground floor to get some privacy.

You're going to charge me for my toddler's milk in the lobby at 4am? 3jd? Kids eat free under 6 but this doesn't count because its room service even though I am in the lobby?

You're going to not follow through on any kids activities that have been posted! Then ask me to run around to see how it can happen?

You're going to make me run to get towels using a strange card check in aNd out system - towels aren't that nice?

All standard developing country customer comes last stuff, just stinks at 430a to be confronted by it! I'm at the hotel right now so had to vent.

Dear Mike R,

Kind greetings from the Holiday Inn Resort Dead Sea,

Many thanks for staying at our Resort as well for sharing your thoughts here at the TripAdvisor .

Moreover reference to your comment regarding kids eat free policy, i would like to clarify that only the kids joining a dining parent/parents at the all day dining restaurant only are eating for free from the kids menu, with certain conditions , not at room service . .

As well for the towel cards policy, it is an internal Resort policy followed in most of the Resorts world wide , the policy is implemented and followed for the guests comfort .

Dear Mike, we do appreciate guests' comments, but your write-up is out of line and we have proven records of our quality standards.

Meantime we wish to regret for any inconvenience .

We hope that you will give us another chance to restore our reputation and we are looking forward welcoming you back

Many Thanks ,

We stayed for one night in March 2013 and I enjoyed it but expected more for $200+ a night, even if it is Holiday Inn. We specifically requested TWICE in the booking that we have 2 twins vs. one double bed only to be checked in to a double when there were twins available, though they fixed it. That said, the pool was beautiful and the rooms were great. Staff was friendly, albeit slow, though I've lived in the ME for long enough to expect that from any property in the region.

We came primarily for the Dead Sea experience but all but one small area of the beach was under construction. The area that was open was absolutely covered in rocks to the extent it was painful to be on the beach or even in the water without shoes. They really could have cleared the small area.

We did have lunch at the pool restaurant and I waited 45 mins for my food at 2:30 pm only to have it delivered incorrectly (got the right stuff 70 minutes in). The chef did come out to apologize and offered us complimentary ice cream which we didn't want (would have preferred that he do something about the food we did order, even 20% off) - we were irked that they wasted so much of our valuable leisure time as you had to sit in the place to eat because they won't deliver the food to pool lounge chairs. We also ordered room service and found that to be much better (my friend ordered something she saw previously on the pool bar menu but wasn't on the room service menu and they were happy to accommodate).

We were also disappointed that we were unable to get spa appointments but enjoyed the complimentary steam room, sauna and fitness center. Would have been a nice touch to have Dead Sea products (shampoo, lotion, etc) in the rooms rather than the cheap stuff. Overall, this is more of a family place. We had a nice time but I'll try another spot down the road next time I'm in the neighborhood.

Room Tip: Ground floor overlooking the pool

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for kindly taking your time feeding us back about your recent stay at our Resort as well for your pleasant words about our facilities and the staff friendliness .

Nevertheless, we have also noted your productive comments with regards the room type assignment, an immediate note was communicated to our front office to investigate the issue, as well for the small stone at the beach I would regret for that as we had a strong storm during that period , action of removing the small stones and adding more sand already done .

Regarding to the food delay and further to your meeting with our assistant food and beverage manager and our chef, for that comment a direct measures were taken to solve that matter and for the future improvement .

Our spa is busy recently and would require an advance booking for the message treatment, appreciate having an advance booking.

Please accept my sincere apologies for any inconvenience you faced during your stay, Also I would appreciate advising us personally if you plan to revisit to our Resort, in order for us to confirm our level of excellence we are known for ..

We hope we will have an opportunity to welcome you again

Many Thanks,

Hatem Badareen

The resort is well maintained, and the pools are great. Almost everything else is a shame. We did not get the room we booked (we were given two twins instead of a king) and the cold water inexplicably stopped working and we were told to shower in the spa. Odd.

The restaurants have terrible service (3 hour dinner...we ordered a salad and fajitas) and are priced exorbitantly. The breakfast was middling, but all other food was pretty bad. There is no flavour in any of the items (of which there are very few). The pizza is the only reasonable item on the menu. The drinks are very expensive, and they purposefully try to take as much money from you as they can. You can buy a bottle of local wine for 28JD at the hotel, or at duty free in the airport for 6 (for an imported brand). If you try to bring alcohol in that you bought at the airport, they try to confiscate it if it is more than 1 bottle.

This hotel/resort is one of the worst I have ever stayed in. The location is beautiful and the grounds are well kept, but the services are rendered atrociously.

Don't settle for here.

This hotel is THE best Holiday Inn we have ever stayed in.
The service was great, and the rooms were excellent, including the view!
We were in a group of 28 people, and always had personal service, especially from the Filipino ladies.
We will recommend this HI to all visiting the Dead Sea.
Thank you.

We stayed one night at this beautiful hotel, in this perfect location. We were dispointed from:
A.we waited over an hour to check in, for no obvious reaon or explanation. We arrived at 14.40, so we could not understand the delay
B. the restaurant for finner (and breakfast) is a sad rather dark cafeteria like space with no character and most importantly the dinner was poor in quality and variety.
We have to admit that breakfast was ok.
They told us they have opened just 2 years, we hope they learn
