I pay at this resort at rack rate without any promotion. On the first day that I check in staff were informed me that we got one Deluxe room and on the second day staff inform me to additional charge of changing the room from Superior to Deluxe without any notice before I stay and were told that if we not pay, resort have to walk us out. And everytime we go out staff will always ask us where we are going and try to change our mind to the place that they recommend. Juccuzzi was very dirty, room are not clean and electricity cut at midnight which they told us before went there that electricity avai for 24 hours. On the last day, the owner ask us a lot of bad to worse question which so spoild our mood. Beach could not walk at all coz it a rock beach. This is bad hospitality that I ever met.

Plubpla is for me one of the only resorts in Koh Mak which is setting well in the environment. Nicely designed, good space between the cottages, nice gardens. It does justice to this island, which has better beaches on other location but unfortunately they have been spoilt by the average poor design of low end accommodations or all of a sudden a three stories building which has nothing to do on this island. I liked the small break at this resort and would recommend it to anybody choosing to stay in Koh Mak. Only disappointment/recommendation would be: try to hide the sandbags on the beach which are there to protect from the erosion; don't wait to maintain the cottages (cement/paint peeling in the bathroom), try to hide the minibar behind a door as it does not look nice in an otherwise well designed room. Improve the strength of the air conditioning. Also, I would put some efforts on the breakfast as it does not do justice with the boutique/attention to detail feel of the resort.

We stayed for two nights at this beautiful resort, likely to be the best on Koh Mak island. The standard is very high and the excellent staff will do everything to make your stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible! The lovely owners work hard to maintain the high standards and it really pays off. The value for money is incredible and the retreat is perfect if you are looking for a quiet getaway. You do need to hire a motorbike if you want to move around on the small island as there is hardly any other transport. However, on arrival the staff will happily pick you up at the ferry pier free of charge as well as drop you off again on departure. The resort is fairly small and consist of around 18 beautiful villas, a wonderful beach and an infinity pool. There is also a restaurant where you can enjoy the included breakfast (not buffet but a choice from a small breakfast menu), lunch and dinner. In the restaurant area there is free WI-FI. The restaurant closes at 9 pm and most people retire to their villas at that time for an early night. We can highly recommend a stay at this resort but a few nights are enough as there is little more than sunbathing/snorkeling and relaxing to do.

We arrived to Koh Mak with a prepaid accomodation at another resort. The other resort was OK but we wanted something different, so we went to the computer and logged in to Tripadvisor. At once we found Plubpla and the reviews were so fascinated that we immediately took a taxi and went to check the place. We didn't need long to make up our minds; we changed resorts the same day although we had paid for the first night at the other place!
Plupla in short: very friendly staff (family owned), beautiful rooms, superb pool (at least 15 m long), nice beach and views, great design and architecture. If we ever come to Koh Mak again, we know where to stay.

Travelling around the island on our motorbike we found this lovely, lovely place. It immediately raised a 'zen feeling'. We almost drove futher after a nice coffee shake, thinking this place would be far beyond our budget, but what a price/value! So we decided to move here the next day for one night only... And here we are, 7 nights further (with a short 3 nights brake on Ko Chang). Yes, we even came back to this paradise. Plubpla makes you feel special and it's the ultimate 'anti' burnout program. With special thanks to mister Chang en all the staff (especially you Beer!). One of us got sick (after visiting Koh Chang) and the staff was ultimately kind & caretaking. We can recommend this place to anyone who wants lovely food & peacefulness.

Excellent resort!! The best we have found so far on our trip to Thailand. Most personal care by the friendly staff, really laid back atmosphere, beautiful maintained gardens, stylish bungalows to stay in, great cooking by an inventive chef who finds his way also outside the menu when it comes to vegetarian dishes…what more could we have wished for? Real recommendation if you want to get away from it all....

Perfect place if you want to relax and take it easy for a couple of days. Its beautiful and VERY clean, friendly staff. But if you are the kind of person who wants 24 hour entertaintment and loads of things to do all the time this is not the place :)
You get very high quality, for a good price!
