Resort is at the top of the hill at nice Koh Mak island. We had a nice room (big bed + bathroom) with a view right at the beautiful bay, palm trees and other islands. There is a small cafe that you might eat something thai or american, whatever you choose. Place is clean.
Owners were rally helpfull with arranging further trip, recommending nice restaurants and places for a drink.
There is a litte walk to the beach, but still - you can rent a scooter just in the middle of the hill and go around the isnland or go to dirrefernt beaches each day. Or you can stay at the Resort and spand the day reading book in hammock.
Not too many tourists around.
Nice!

We had a great time here when we stayed in January. Our deluxe room had an amazing view, the coffee was excellent and the food was great, especially the banana pancakes! Nice little island that we wish was closer to home. We stayed for 5 days and wished it could have been longer. The next time we are in Thailand, we will definitely go back to stay at Thaidaho.

Stayed over Christmas and New Year, wish we could have stayed longer. Scenary from Thaidaho is very special, can sit on the terrace for hours admiring the view. Kat and Allen do an amazing job, the food and coffee are great. The rooms are clean, nice spacious bathrooms, very reasonable cost too.
Kat organised taxi from Bangkok and booked speedboat crossing too, nothing is too much trouble for Allen or Kat. Free chilled water to save on plastic waste, use of the kitchen which are nice touches.
Koh Mak is easy to get around, on foot, bicycle, scooter or taxi at 50 baht a trip. Plenty of islands to Kayak to and around, restaurants walking distance from Thaidaho. Thaidaho web site also excellent. Would love to go back.

Room Tip: Vista room is amazing!

We did not stay at the guest house but dropped by for breakfast a few times to enjoy the amazing view and warm hospitality... Highly recommend the 'woodys' sets you up for the day... The coffee is also sublime (especially after a month of 3 in 1 Nescafé sachets)

We booked 8 nights at this delightful place and they just flew by. The place occupies a good sized plot on one of the highest points of the island, and as others have said the views are spectacular with island after island floating in the blue sea. My wife loved to do her yoga whilst admiring the dreamy view whilst I was very happy sipping a cold beer or a glass of wine and chilling out..

Our ocean view room was perfect with everything we needed, and laid back American, Allen (who talks just like Nicholas Cage!) was always attentive but not intrusive. He and his Thai partner, Kat, spoil you with their breakfasts, super coffee and occasional barbeques.

One thing we were slightly concerned about at first was how steep the hill was approaching Thaidaho, but we hired a scooter from the nearby restaurant for 250 bahts a day and the problem was solved. In fact we could then appreciate how convenient the resort was, being so central to the island, as we could choose which beach we wanted to go for sheltered swimming regardless of where the breeze was coming from. Of course, you don't have to hire a scooter because the beaches are only 5 or 10 minutes stroll away. One couple we met there had children so they hired a golf buggy.

If Kat's not cooking there are 3 restaurants within yards and lots more just 10 minutes amble away.

If you're looking for a supremely peaceful place to stay with views to die for then this is the place.

We loved our time here. It is good value for money for a family room. It is clean and has comfy beds, living area and a shared small kitchen with fridge. The view is fab. The coffee is excellent. The BBQ was fab, though we could never eat that much! Pizza night was fun. Allan and Kat really want to make your stay enjoyable and put a lot of effort into each thing, especially the food. Location wise you are the top of a steep hill (5 mins walk to beaches either side). Pretty central and can cycle anywhere or get a taxi/golf buggy if needed. Oh, and not forgetting the adorable Motam, their 3 year old niece who became buddies with my son. A lovely family.

The Thaidaho Vista Resort is a fantastic place, as is Koh Mak! Allen and Kat were gracious, kind, and went the extra mile to make sure all of our needs were met. The grounds are pristine as is the view high up on the vista. I wish I could have stayed for weeks! If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing getaway with great food and service, I highly recommend this place!
