Stayed for 3 nights at the end of April in room 1.
We had reserved for 2 nights but Ditte kindly allowed us to arrive a day early ( Sunday) as we had problems with our previous accommodation.
We were warmly welcomed with tea and cakes and shown to our pristine room. Everything here is light, spacious and spotless. The large balconies (equipped for outdoor coking) are only a short stones throw from the river and the views just keep one spell bound for ages. Yes, giraffes in the distance, the tides ebbing and flowing and an abundance of bird life. Just walk out of the property and saunter for about a mile along the river bank. Stop for a beer or just sit and watch the world go by.
The room and bathroom were spacious as was the very comfortable bed and pillows. Gowns, Safe, good storage space, fridge and pool. Also excellent TV with all sports channels. Good car parking.
Dale the barefoot chef is the perfect host. He also prepares an excellent breakfast, cooked to order with different pastries/bread each day. Nothing is too much trouble. All his support staff are friendly and keep the Guest house immaculate.
Lots to do in and around the town with good eating choices. We ate at the Links and Grazing by the River and enjoyed both. Walking on the vast, deserted beaches at Port Alfred and Kenton was wonderful.
We felt very comfortable, safe and happy in Port Alfred and will certainly visit again on our next trip to SA and of course stay at KRGH.
