“Affordable fruit & Vege, yummy food”

I LOVE the station street markets. We can get all our fruit and vege needs for SO much cheaper than woolworths or anywhere and *most* of the time there is no problems with the quality!

I also LOVE the food stalls they have there! La Gallette has amazing coffee, the 'love and care cafe' has amazing roti prata and curry; the paella at another stall is good and the japanese place has ramen that is average.

All in all, great place!

The small Subiaco Station Street Markets are not far from the city centre of Perth if you have your own transport or catch the train. Going to the expense of a taxi would not be worthwhile.

The markets have your usual array of cheap vegetables that still somehow conspire to be non-appealing (Victoria Markets in Melbourne this ain't) and there are a few stalls where you can buy wall hangings you'll never put on your wall or get your palm read. Or something. There are a number of food offerings here and they are somewhat tempting and after you've partaken if you have some time to kill you may want to check out if the Subiaco Museum is open as it isn't far away.

Something probably only of interest to Perth residents who want something to do on a Saturday afternoon.

One of the hippest weekend market in Perth. Suboaco weekend market is comparatively smaller than most markets. It makes up for its unique blend of Australian and Asian offerings. Fresh produces and cooked food are sold in different sections of the market. There is always a big crowd. A good place to do your week groceries shopping and to enjoy a Sunday brunch.

The Station Street markets have diminished in size in recent times (built out by offices). Once large and accommodating, the markets have become less desirable since becoming the small alley that they are now. They're more crowded, with people still coming in large numbers for the cheap fruit and veg, but have less stalls generally and not as clean as they used to be. The whiff of fish greets you as you walk in - why don't they put the fish stall at the back? The fishy smell puts you off browsing in the nearby stalls, flowers and cards, and the stench of garbage around the nearby patisserie is always there.

Live music was once a feature in the open courtyard - gone now, and bands, when they have them, are squashed into a small corner of the coffee area. Everything is squeezy and tight, most of your time spent trying not to trip over people.

Generally a good little market but whose popularity makes it very overcrowded, especially on Saturdays. Fresh fruit and veg. of only average quality, they are better but more expensive at close by supermarkets. An interesting variety of food stalls, for all tastes and a superb French style patisserie, though bring lots of money!. A great asset to a great suburb, (I live there)
