We stayed here for our anniversary and it's absolutely beautiful. Entering through the gates and driving through the parkland is gorgeous and then you arrive at the hall which is stunning. The staff are all lovely and so friendly and you can see they clearly enjoy working in such beautiful surroundings. We felt so at home and the entertainment rooms are all beautifully decorated, it's like staying in a grand stately home. We had drinks on the terrace overlooking the lake....just stunning. We had pre dinner drinks in the library and then went for dinner in the dining room. There are family portraits on the walls, showing the history of the marquess of Londonderry family. Dinner and breakfast were superb and again the staff were lovely.
Our bedroom overlooked the lake and was clean and again gorgeous. The bed was a king size and very comfy and the bathroom was great with a wonderful shower.
Don't miss out on this gem.
Make sure you have a look at the chapel it's amazing.

Had afternoon tea in the Glass House for a friend's hen party.
Staff went out out their way to make us feel welcome and special.
The afternoon tea itself was absolutely delicious and very filling - most of us had to take some of it home.
I was also impressed that it included unlimited tea and coffee, including lattes.
Well done Wynyard!

We have been visiting Wynard for Sunday lunch for many years but the last two visits the food has declined significantly in quantity and quality leaving our entire party hungry after three courses the service was very slow highly overpriced now .Sad to say we will be looking for a knew venue. Surroundings are fabulous

Dear 2018max,

thank you for your review & recent visit to our Wellington Restaurant, please accept my apologies for not meeting your expectations.

I am surprised to read that you left hungry after 3 courses, I wish you would have asked to speak to myself or my restaurant manager at the time rather than leaving a review.

The ingredients we use and the way we serve our traditional Sunday Lunch has been the same for the past 4 years as has the pricing for the menu.

The overall majority of guest are very happy with what we offer/serve, my apologies again for not meeting your expectations for the last two visits.

With kind regards,

Brian

An absolutely fantastic Hotel. Beautiful building and both rooms we booked were lovely.
Comfortable bed, large bathroom.
There was a wedding on when we stayed and unfortunately the people attending were extremely noisy late in the evening, early hours in corridors.
They had an issue also with the alarm system, which went off twice in the night, so after a very long day a well needed rest wasn’t possible with both issues.
We spoke with reception during the night and again in the morning and an apology was given, if a little half heartedly.
When you pay over £300 for your stay then, you do expect to sleep undisturbed.
Having said that we will definitely return.
Breakfast was excellent. The best Full English of our two stay trip to meet family.
