We rang the hotel to ask if they had disabled friendly rooms available and were assured yes they had all on the ground floor with easy access to all hotel facilities. The room was in a cottage with a step at the front door, the door was too narrow for a wheel chair, the shower was over the bath and no handles on a too low toilet. Our wedding we were attending was some distance from the main building. This was a nightmare to get to, wheelchairs don't run on chippings, large steps everywhere.
The staff were very helpful and concerned. They did everything they could to help my wife except for the lady on reception who sat in her chair insisting the hotel was disabled friendly and there was ramps to get into rooms which no one could find. People in wheel chairs or crutches are in them because they can not walk far, climb high steps or climb into a bath.
The wedding, the meal, the staff and room were faultless but PLEASE DO NOT SAY YOU ARE DISABLED FRIENDLY WHEN YOU ARE NOT IT IS NOT FAIR ON DISABLED PEOPLE.More
