I stay at Gold crest when I am in the Quatre Bornes area. I've stayed here twice, mainly for location and price. You can get cheaper guest houses in MRU but Gold Crest is a budget-type hotel. Cost is approx US$ 65 per day but negotiable! The rooms on the 4th floor are probably better because you get a small balcony. It is supposedly non-smoking in all rooms but you can still smoke so if you are a smoker, you might prefer a room with a balcony! You get a double bed/ twin beds with an old TV and local channels. Wifi is not free and not worth it because it is really slow. The square directly opposite of Gold Crest offers the public free wifi so you are probably better off trying that out. It probably takes approx 45 mins by car to the airport. The only toilet accessory provided is soap and maybe in some rooms they refill the liquid soap container and shampoo fixed in the shower cubicle. Overall, a good enough hotel situated unfortunately in what appears to be a Red Light District area.
