This hotel was amazing. It is beautiful, luxurious, well-built, and well-maintained, unlike other offerings in the Hospet/Hampi area. Rooms are relatively large and feature all of the amenities which one would expect. Hotel staff are courteous and helpful almost to the point of annoyance. On the grounds are a bistro, nice restaurant, and open-air bar, and all three venues offer very fine food as well as libations. There also is a pool and a spa. Charges for laundry were reasonable and there was no charge for wifi internet access. On word of advice for fellow travelers: mind the advice that you get at check-in and never open the windows or you will be assailed by monkeys quickly! I really enjoyed Hotel Malligi and would be happy to stay there again.

Hotel in Hospet was clean and modern but decorated in regard history as it is located close to the UNESCO heritage Hampi (about 30 mins ride). Very elegant though (I liked greenery in the park with fountain in an courtyard inside the hotel especially). Room was spacious, bed comfortable and tidy, AC was working. No problem in the bathroom too. Just one thing was annoying. Some rooms are connected with the other rooms with the door. So I could hear everything what was happening in the next room (missing feeling of privacy). Restaurant where having breakfast was in opposite building. Diverse choices of truly tasty food and I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. Staff was helpful and kind. Airy lobby with fancy sofas are a plus. There is one small shop with souvenirs in the lobby but quite pricey (obviously).

It was initially a bit difficult to locate the hotel in the town, as we were driving down, but once inside we were surprised to see a large spacious old-style hotel. Rooms were large and clean, (except for a old type CRT TV with limited channels), a/c worked well but cooled well only in the night. There is an a/c multicuisine restaurant - decent north indian & chinese food, but nothing great, plus another vegetarian restaurant - this is always full and crowded and quite difficult to get a table, no preference is given for room guests over walk-in customers; consequently I found it difficult to get a decent south indian meal at nights & had to settle for a mughlai meal every night at the a/c restaurant. Food and drinks were very reasonably priced. I was pleasantly surprised to note that there was a spa (9 am to 9 pm), the waiters in the restaurant were using IPads for order taking. Spacious car parking in open yard - however watch out for the car park attenders who clean your car without asking and then demand Rs 100 for that service. The hotel also has a small shop within where one can buy essential items, cigarettes, chocolates, water, etc., and there is a nice garden in the centre of the semi-circular rooms block, with fountains, (and a pool with blue lotus), these are things one rarely sees nowadays, it happens only only in the older hotels. Travel desk & reception desk were efficient and helpful, they arranged an excellent guide for our Hampi visit. The wedding halls were booked back-to-back during the two days of our stay, which made parking a bit difficult in the open yard. Overall a good hotel with decent facilities, I was pleasantly surprised to see this standard of hotel in a smaller town like Hospet.

Room Tip: take the a/c rooms on the first floor
