This place has it all: perfect location in the country yet close to Geneva, great rooms with a view, quality restaurant, all the spa facilities you could want, golf, water-skiing, ski slopes 10 minutes away and 5-star service. I have stayed here 3 times in the past 2 years and will certainly be back!

I hesitated whether to write a review of this hotel because I love it so much I don't want anyone else to go there! Our family of four stayed there for a weekend in August 2010 and we recently went back for a spa day (as we live in nearby Geneva). The rooms are gorgeous the spa, pool, gym area is wonderful, the restaurant delicious, the service perfection. Our weekend stay included a tennis lesson (excellent), golf (excellent), water skiing (long wait but worthwhile, dinner at the restaurant, us eof the pool, the gym and the spa facilities. We went back this January (2012) for a day at the spa with use of the pool and gym. It is are little luxurious treat that we want to keep for ourselves - so please don't go!

My wife and our 6 years old kid spent 1 night in Jiva Hill Park Hotel in early December 2011. We booked a Deluxe Room, 34 sqm, number 102. The Hotel is new (5 years) and offers a lot of possible activities, like an indoor swimming pool at 28 degrees Celsius, a jacuzzi warmer than the pool, a sauna (quite small), a turkish bath (excellent), tennis court, water ski, golf and helicopter on request ! All was very clean and in excellent condition, as new. We met several times the excellent General Manager (Mr. Fabrice MERCIER), who was always very friendly, listening to our remarks and available. He came at the time when we checked in and welcomed us on this occasion. I also want to add that Mr MERCIER is reading carefully Tripadvisor reviews and do not hesitate to answer directly to clients remarks and complaints, which I find of High Class from a General Manager who is doing his job correctly !

So, to resume our stay in Jiva Hill Park Hotel :


Positive points :
--------------------

1) Spa and swimming pool are excellent, clean, warm enough and quiet.
2) As there is a golf, a lot of green all around is very good to relax your eyes and mind.
3) Service was very good, except two points that will be discribed below.
4) Very quiet place, far from road, airport or other noisy environment.
5) Nice billard to play with, just opposite reception.


Points to be improved :
-----------------------------

1) Food quantity given by room service was not enough.
2) The menu list is not offering enough choices.
3) Barman at the bar should not drink the rest of a milkshake made for his client, specially just in front of him and waiter in restaurant should not be seen eating some of the clients food when clients are entering the restaurant for breakfast.
4) There is really nothing to do around the hotel (except sports activities).
5) Water falling from the shower in the room nbr 102 does not have enough pressure.

Well, that's it ! I would definitively recommend this hotel for a short stay or for a week end. You can also stay in Junior Suite (Total : 6), which are actually like small villa of 48 sqm, only the view is not the best as can be on the parking...

We will come back to relax and enjoy a peaceful week end.

My daughter and I arrived on Friday lunch in Geneva airport where a mini bus from the hotel came to greet us. The welcoming at the hotel was amazing and made us feel comfortable immediately. We went to the restaurant for lunch and again a couple of times for dinner during as we found the service and the cuisine of this new chef was excellent. I recommend also the Spa with great professional staff. Should i have been a golfer, there have the most picturesque golf courses which i recommend also. The views from everywhere in this hotel are breathtaking with the mont blanc from the restaurant and the mount jura from the bedroom. Also there is the opportunity to visit Switzerland as the hotel is very close to Geneva 25 mns by taxi (black luxury Mercedes) which can be organised by the hotel. In all, we both highy recommend this hotel !!!

We did not stay at the resort but just had lunch at the Shamwary Restaurant. The resort is quite attractive. Nice scenery, well maintained grounds and spacious. However there is something terribly wrong with the restaurant. The chef de service seems competent but that does not transform to the staff and the kitchen. No starters, not even nuts or olives with the glass of Champagne as apéritif. The menu does not offer much choice. The ordering takes long and the service even longer. We got the first dish more than an hour after our arrival. We sat in front of the empty plates for another 20 minutes. The main dish took another half an hour. Not even the golfers in front of the restaurant nor the water-skiers down on the small lake, nor the imposing Mont-Blanc as a backdrop could make us forget that we were wasting our time. The meals were ok, but just ok and the portions rather small.

It is obvious that the service you received doesn’t reflect in any way the real level of service the Shamwari aspires to. As regards our menu, it’s currently renewed by our Chef Emmanuel Ollivier and will reflect our will to going upscale.

Had the great pleasure of spending two nights in this superb resort hotel this week! The hotel is relatively small, but it is located at a huge property with a full range of facilities available! Golf, waterskiing, swimmingpool, SPA etc. The view to the surrounding montains is also very nice and relaxing. The hotel is nicely designed, with nice furniture and art collections, but has at the same time a warm and cosy atmosphere. Spacious rooms with fantastic bathrooms. Friendly staff. Tried the restaurant one night, and the quality of the food and wine was at a very high level, indeed. Would love to come back with my wife/family!

We live near Geneva and had a very enjoyable three night mini-break here in high-summer. We decided against the suite and took a standard room, but were lucky enough to get a room at the end of the building with a balcony that is larger than all the other rooms (we recommend requesting either 115 or 215). The modern decor, amenities, toiletries and luxurious bath and shower were great. We found the service to be excellent, from front desk to bar staff and room service, all were friendly and efficient. Our main disappointment was the food, particularly the underwhelming room service breakfast and the "gastronomic" dinner in Shahwami restaurant: the choice for dinner was limited, the meal itself was rather precious and disappointing and the servers were robotic young men who lacked any personality. It would be no loss to skip the restaurant and eat locally, as the receptionist will gladly recommend other local restaurants. We also enjoyed the spa, massage and facial treatments. Overall we found Jiva Hill to be an impressive and luxurious operation that was not overpriced considering the quality and setting.
