“Classic Santorini away from the crowds”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2014

Easy to find as all the taxi drivers knew of the Hotel, this piece of classic blue and white Santorini is away from the crowds and noise and hustle and bustle of the main towns, but just a short (inexpensive) bus ride to both Fira and Oia.
Like staying with extended family, I was taken in, told my room was chosen so that I would have a good view, and the breakfast each morning was great. A relaxed and easy stay.
The couple running it have such pride in their guesthouse like hotel - I was offered fresh tomatoes to taste, and on my last morning they worked out the best option to get around to the last things on the island I hadn't seen before getting my ferry. They arranged a hire car, and it came to me. Too easy!

Hotel looked much better in the photos.
Staff a little rude asking us to bring in our dishes. On holidays, when paying money I do not expect to clean up after my self, otherwise I would not of chosen a hotel, rather a self contained apartment.
Air conditioning in room didn't work, a requirement in 30 degree heat.

What a delightful place to stay away from the madding crowd in Santorini. Loukas and Irene make you feel so very welcome. The hotel is spotless - we had room 207 with a view of the monastery in the background and another picturesque church in the foreground. The pool is a lovely place to unwind. Breakfast was excellent - buffet-style with many choices and plenty to eat. About a 25 minute walk from Thira, this is an excellent place, centrally located and served by buses all over the island although we decided to rent an ATV for 20 euro a day.
We would certainly recommend this hotel and will most certainly be back.Bathroom was great, room was lovely.

A wonderful place to stay in Santorini. It's step away from the local bus stop, right in the heart of small Mesaria where you have access to grocery stores, coffee shops, and a few bars. The hotel is on a lower elevation unlike most of the other scenic hotels in Santorini, however you do get a nice eastern scenic view of the vineyards, which makes for pleasant sunrises.

The facility is clean, cozy, and the pool and lounge areas are tidy and well kept. The hotel is run by a very friendly elderly couple who made us feel very much at home, greeting us with lovely conversations and friendly service.

Price wise, the hotel is a great value. Fira is only about a 25 minute walk, or a 5 minute bus ride, so it's great for those looking to enjoy the sights of the island while being able to escape the busy tourist spots in the evening.

Room Tip: Breakfast is served in the main lobby between 8am and 10, but your'e able to take it with you an...

During a business trip in March have stayed to this family run hotel. Located close to the airport and to Fira town it is a convenient place to stay. Room was very good and very clean. Bathroom was just renovated. Hotel offers breakfast (most of the food is home made by Mrs Irene). I suggest this hotel not only for business trips but also for relaxing holiday since it is quiet, friendly staff, has a swimming pool and beach is approximately 2km away.

Room Tip: Back sir facing the pool and the Aegean Sea

We had a wonderful stay and great services from Lucas and Irene.

Our stay felt more like a home than a hotel. The room and toilet overall are very clean, these couples really know how to maintain this cute hotel. We had the room with a big balcony facing the swimming pool. Breakfast also included, and it’s not like having breakfast at the hotel but its more like having breakfast with your family. It’s a lot of variety breakfast start from raisin bread, muffin, toast, eggs, lots of jam and all served in Greece style also with Greece coffee! I’m loving it.

Lucas took us around Mesaria and it was a great journey we had and for sure it’s unforgettable. He also took us to the airport, it’s around 10 minutes from the Hotel.

I would really recommend this hotel if you want to feel the friendliness of Greece family, i’m sure you won’t regret it.

Hotel Kalma is a great value for the price. It is as advertised- the people who wrote negative reviews need to remember that is listed as a two star not a five star hotel. The rooms are clean, the location is very central and the owners are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. There is nice view of the ocean from many rooms and the area was quiet at night which my husband and I appreciate. The owners are helpful, kind, warm and welcoming. The breakfast, which is included, is terrific and they easily serve the best French Toast I have ever eaten anywhere, ever! I was
