Well, this is the place to be at if you want to experience the warmth of Rajasthani people with superb hospitality of the camp boss Raj. The place is very well maintained and serves excellent food. The base camp as well as the secluded camp site in the dunes are wonderful. Mobile tents are perfectly placed for a relaxed or romantic getaway amongst sheer nature. Must visit.

Dear Guest Shrooomz,

Greetings from Safari Camp Osian!

Thank you for staying with us, and for taking out the time to give such a positive feedback. It was a real pleasure to host such a lovely couple.
I am glad that you enjoyed your stay... Especially the exclusive mobile camp that we set up just for the two of you out in the Dunes.

Hope you made it to Ajmer on time for Diwali. Me and the Camp Team wish both of you a Very Happy Diwali, and a Great Year ahead.
We look forward to your company in the future.

Warm regards, Raj Bakshi.

We booked this place as we did not want to drive 250+ km to Jaisalmer for a similar experience. Its just an hour's drive from Jodhpur - the last couple of kms through a village road. The camp is located in a part sandy part vegetation area. The place is kept clean. The owner Mr.Raj Bakshi is quite a helpful man, ensuring your stay is pleasant and your needs are met. Although we reached around 3:30pm, he ensured lunch was kept aside for us.
The tents are clean and the beds & linen decently comfortable, although it did get quite cold at night. Would have liked a slightly bigger bed, but hey you're in a tent after all. The food was great, so was the service.
The highlight of our trip was the camel safari on sand dunes - mind you this area is not entirely void of vegetation, so if you're looking to find endless sand you wont get it. Our daughter was ecstatic during the safari - nothing beats watching a sunset from sand dunes. The colors take your breath away !! The Rajasthani folk music and dance programme around a campfire after the safari was so much fun - great seating arrangement in the sand. Wonderful experience !!

Would definitely recommend this place - if you have kids, they'll have a whale of time playing around in the sand.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your review. A happy and satisfied guest leaving the camp always makes my day.
Your suggestion of a slightly bigger bed has been made note of and will be implemented soon.

Me and the Camp Team look forward to another visit in future.

Regards,

Raj Bakshi.

We reached Safari Camp, Osian on 6th Jan 2012 and were welcomed with cold drinks and cool towels as the ride upto Osian is quite bumpy and hot. But we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful scenery and the great campsite and off course the very well-behaved staff. We went for a camel ride and enjoyed the desert very much. At night we had a folk music performed by local artistes. It reminded me of the scene from the movie...Lamhe. Accomodations are in swiss tents and all necessary needs have been looked after. We really enjoyed this camp.

Five of us (me, my wife & 3 friends) decided to visit Jodhpur for a couple of days. It was a spur of the moment plan and we reached Jodhpur in the morning by train. We hired a cab for a day and headed to Osian, which is 60 kms from jodhpur. After visiting the local temple we started searching for a suitable desert camp. There are a few options but we found Safari Camp Osian to be the best. Our reasons for choosing this camp over others were:
1. Amazing location...close to the dunes.
2. Clean and well managed
3. Reasonably well priced
4. Very courteous and helpful staff

This camp is close to Reggie's camel camp but there is a world of difference between the staff and the hospitality. The staff at Reggie's camp was snobbish and did not even allow us to view their property properly. On the other hand, Terrance (the manager at Safari Camp) was very courteous and helpful.

The tariff included all meals, a camel desert safari & evening folk music & dance. The meals were prepared according to our tastes and we enjoyed the local cuisine.

The swiss tents were clean and adequately furnished. The bathrooms were also clean but had did not have hot water..it was luke warm.

The camel safari was one of the highlight of our stay at the camp. We went for the safari during sunset and got a great view.

After the safari we were entertained by local folk singers and dancers.

All in all we had a great experience and we were treated like royalty till the time we checked out of the camp.

We (my wife and myself) had a great experience staying there. We spent one and half day there and it was a very relaxing experience. The tents were clean and comfortable. The staff was very kind and took good care of us. Raj Bakshi, the owner, is amazing and he came to pick us up from Jodhpur and went out of his way to fulfil our every wish. Anyone going to Jodhpur should definitely spend one day here.

The food was very good as well.
