We especially enjoyed our stay in Papaevangelou Hotel. The hotel has a breathtaking view over the village and the mountains scenery. Our rooms were spacious, clean and well equipped. Breakfast was delicious and copious and consists of eggs, homemade marmalades, cheese, fresh fruit, yoghurt and homemade cake.

The owner George is a very warm, helpful and hospitable man. He recommended us some walks and visits in the region. We had a problem with our hired car and George was so kind to do some calls and make arrangements to solve it!

We would definitely recommend this accommodation to peoples who like to visit the Zagori mountains.

Our spacious room (number one) was very comfortable and decorated in a tasteful rustic style. We could happily spend time in it. The bathroom had a carved wood sink and the tub itself was beside a window onto a terrace - a very nice place to soak.
The room came equipped with a small fridge and kettle with a selection of teas, as well as a TV.
There was a terrace with chairs outside the room, with a beautiful view (not all rooms will have this) and as we were tucked away at the end of the property there was plenty of privacy.
The hotel itself is constructed in village style and on multiple levels so that there is a sense of intimacy and quietness. Plenty of greenery and well-tended flowers.
Breakfast was excellent. Brought to our table in the communal room, it was more than we could manage. Good bread, freshly cut ham, wide selection of jams (mostly local) and Yorgos, who runs this place with his wife, stands behind the counter making fine coffee to order -- espresso, cappucino, whatever you like.
The hosts -- and you do feel they think of themselves that way -- are charming and helpful. We were concerned about one of our car tyres and Yorgos popped out to top up the air; a question about check out times was met with the answer 'please don't rush.'
And this splendid place doesn't come at a very high price -- it is excellent value for money.
Papigo is a lovely village with plenty of places to eat and good walks nearby. Try swimming in the natural pools nearby. Astra restaurant is excellent, serving produce from their garden in an idyllic location.

Room Tip: Room one is a good choice -- tucked away on a quiet spot and a good size

Whahoooo! What a place! What a nice and pleasant and generous owner. How lovely it is to stay in this hotel. The rooms are different in size and design. All is done is great taste and may suit couples as well as families.
What can I say? Run quickly /... you want to be there!

Room Tip: The rooms are different try to have the right room for your needs. Check with Yorgos (I believe that is the name of the extremely pleasant guy). The area is very quite, so there is no need to ask for certain location for peaceful nights. Different suits are very much different size-wizw, be specific about your needs.

We left Papigon this morning, and we loved the village. Papevangelou!s rooms, breakfast, and hospitality were phenomenal. George oversaw our every need. Our room was gorgeous. The friendly and idyllic place is a highlight of Greece. We highly recommend it. We cannot say enough good about George and his hotel.

Room Tip: We heard cats the first night and a dog barking the second. If you are a light sleeper, you might want to bring your earplugs.
