If you want a very pleasant stopover on your way from Windhoek to Etosha or Caprivi we can highly recommend this lodge. Excellent service, excellent food and overall very nice and clean. From the restaurant you can enjoy the view over a plain where you (most of the time) will see quite a number of game.
The game drives are probably also interesting and our ranger was good and “knowledgable”. But ours was spoiled by a thunderstorm with heavy rain.

We stopped here on our way to Etosha national Park. The staff were very friendly. The food was excellent. We enjoyed the quiet and solitude of the lodge. The sunrise was spectacular. The rooms were clean and very comfortable.
We would recommend that people stay here on their way to North Namibia.

We stopped at the Frans Indongo Lodge on our way to Etosha National Park traveling from Windhoek. We decided to stay 2 nights and it was excellent. The game drive was a lot of fun and the individual leading the game drive was very personable. The deck overlooking the wildlife was incredible and I found the bungalows to be very well done. I suggest staying in this resort either on the way to, or on the way back from Etosha - or both.

Stayed here for two nights after Etosha before leaving Namibia. It's a nice farm, with individual cottages. The communal areas are nice, but pretty exposed - we were there during (Namibian) winter, and it was really cold during dinner and breakfast. The lodge provided blankets and heaters though, which helped! Would definitely recommend the cheetah sanctuary.

Frans Indongo Lodge is in a beautiful setting and a great stopover between Windhoek and Etosha. My young sons and I enjoyed our two night stay and spent our full day visiting the Crocodile Farm and Cheetah Conservancy Fund, both of which I highly recommend. We had originally booked a family room, which was two connected rooms in the courtyard, but I requested a change to a stand-alone bungalow upon check-in so we could all sleep in the same room together. The bungalow was lovely, except for a strong sewage smell in the bathroom. On our last morning I had a hot shower and that flushed out the smell completely. I never complained about the smell so can't fault the staff for not addressing it. It is a set menu of delicious food for supper and they were very accommodating with special meals for my fussy eaters. My children enjoyed the small pool, but it was too cold for me. Listening to the birds while watching the early morning sunrise from the huge communal deck is spectacular. The evening game drive does not compare to the wildlife in Etosha, but was a nice experience.

Room Tip: Choose the bungalows over the courtyard rooms if possible.

On the way from Etosha to the airport we stayed two nights in Frans Indongo Lodge. The location is lovely, in the middle of nowhere. The lodge itself consists of several thatched chalets, a reception and restaurant with a big veranda facing a waterhole.

The chalets are spacey and well equipped. The lodge is being managed by a skilled german manager couple and you can see it all over the place - a well organized work forces with a woman touch. I personally saw a moment where the female manager educated the staff. An important issue, as I had learned most of the staff in african lodges don't have formal education in hotel business, they get educated on the job.

The waterhole is nice, there are antelopes, gnus and warthogs all day through. There is observation tower on the lot, with better view over the waterhole.

The food was good, one of the few places that understand the essence of a menu - the courses mustn't be big, if you fed up with the starter you won't have much fun eating the main course and after the dinner you end up being overeaten. Well at this lodge the course sizes were just right.

We made an evening game drive into the game area belonging to the lodge, the guide was really focused looking for rhinos, which he managed to find eventually! A mother with a daughter, about 10m away, beautiful. They booked for us a cheetah safari in the CCF for the next day, just on the way to the airport, which we also enjoyed very much.

All in all - a recommended stay.

We spent one night here but could have stayed another night to give us time to visit the cheetah reserve.

We had a great room only a short walk from the bar and dining room. The room was very spacious and very well furnished with a fridge, tv, etc. The bathroom area was excellent.

Food was satisfactory and service at breakfast was a bit slow.

There is a great viewing are beside the bar overlooking a waterhole with plenty of antelope to watch with a sundowner in the hand.

There is another reserve belonging to the lodge close by with a much larger collection of animals and these can be visited on an organised game drive.
