“It doesn't get much better than this!”

A beautiful house, ideal for families of all ages. At the foot of Blencathra.

If you like your walking and Fell running you won't need to use your car again after getting here. Although a car isn't necessary,as public transport and internet services, serves well.

Down the road is Keswick with all the outdoor shops, booths supermarket and numerous coffee shops if needed.

We'd love to come back.

“Comfortable and spacious house below Blencathra”
Reviewed 17 February 2017 for a stay in February 2017

The house had everything we needed and was homely and comfortable. It is a very short drive to Keswick, or a pleasant walk, and there are other good walks straight from the house.

“Large and comfortable farmhouse near Keswick”

This is a spacious and very comfortable farmhouse suitable for an extended family or a small group. It is set by itself in open fields below Blencathra and close to the village of Threlkeld. It is clean and well equipped. There are even two televisions in case you can't agree what to watch! There is plenty of parking space for at least 5 cars.
A number of walks can be done on Skiddaw and Blencathra direct from the house and there are many more within a short car journey. If the weather is poor Keswick is only a short distance away.
There is good pub in Threlkeld that does meals, but it is popular so it might be worthwhile phoning in advance.
This is our second visit and I'm sure it will not be the last.

We had a fantastic 4 nights at the Ings. The property's amazing and ideally located with great views.
The service from the very start of the booking to staying then afterwards was excellent.
The house was really impressive and the 8 of us had plenty of room.
We have booked again as we can't wait to return.

“Great weather improved our stay this year”
Reviewed 14 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

Once again Ings provided great facilities and comfort for this years visit to the Lake District. This cottage is really suited for accessing the Northern lakes with transport routes via some of the most scenic routes you can find in this fantastic part of the country. And if u don't want to drive, there are many way marked footpaths literally on the doorstep! Even if you wanna just chill on site the views are amazing.

“Life-long Friends - a reunion !”
Reviewed 9 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

If you love "The Lakes" and hillwalking - you could not pick a better location than Ings. Most of us are in our late 70's now and having walked the hills of the UK for over 61 years this was perfect for us in all respects - the weather was perfect; the setting sublime and the autumn colours truly beyond belief. As for the house, it couldn't have been bettered, for setting, views, parking space, warmth and comfort and two lounges.
One point only - which is that although it sleeps 9, there are of course only 7 beds - two of them being doubles - so eight guys applied a little compromise by bringing a blow-up mattress to accommodate eight older guys who, in all probability would have a little difficulty coming to terms with another snorer/grunter under the same duvet :-)
Can only thoroughly recommend Ings - and hope to be back !
