Great coffee shop in Threlkeld and village hall. Great selection of cakes and very helpful staff. Very handy for C2C riders. And they put on good talks and shows in the evenings.

Good points-
Reasonably priced, 2 coffees and 2 tray bakes £7.80
Homemade chocolate coconut macaroon was very nice
Very modern and clean toilet facilities, there was even a shower contained in one of the cubicles
Lovely decor and surroundings
Brilliant view

Bad points
I had looked this place up online and the opening hours were 10-5 every day, however when we arrived at the start of threlkeld village we saw a board advertising the coffee shop but stating it was closed on a Monday (the day we were there)
We decided to go to the pub instead, it just so happened that we passed the coffee shop before going to the pub and it was open! Pretty misleading
There were some very nice looking cakes on display but they didn't have covers over them and there was a fly crawling on one, I would have had cake if they'd been covered but instead I had a tray bake item from a glass cabinet

Overall a great cafe and will definitely return

Thank you for your review, we only started opening at Mondays recently, and the notice board slipped from the radar for a few days until a lovely client advised me of the error, this was rectified immediately and we will keep opening every day until further notice.
I hope we will see you soon. :)
Regards

We cycled on the old railway from Keswick to Threlkheld and wondered about doing the last bit when it reaches the A66, but we are very glad we did. This coffee shop is amazing, all the cakes are made on site and the range of hot drinks is as good as anywhere. And to top it all you get an amazing view of the roaming hills. Would recommend to anyone

The bus from Keswick stops almost outside so I thought I'd start my walk with a slice of cake and a hot drink. Spoilt for choice with the cakes but went for lemon drizzle and hot chocolate. Good choice. Lovely walk around the lower slopes of Blencathra but for the last half hour (at least) all I could think about was going back for something else to eat. So, instead of turning right and walking down the disused railway line to
Keswick I turned left and went back for tuna mayo sandwich then walked all the way back to Keswick feeling full and happy.
Brilliant pit stop if you are walking in the area but also worth a special trip

This little gem is minutes off the A66 at Threlkeld
We have visited the coffee shop now on a few occasions and have found the staff really friendly and welcoming, the service and produce are also fresh and to a really high standard
We should really keep quiet about this little gem but we feel it is worth sharing

Thank John B
