Stayed there last weekend & found it so relaxing. Whilst the place itself is great, the staff were truly amazing - every single one of them - so welcoming, professional, helpful & attentive in an unobtrusive way (they remember you too - you're not just a room number)! The food is the best I've had in ages - breakfast & dinner cooked to order. Peter was especially good but it would be unfair just to single him out as EVERY single staff member was brilliant!! It's very informal which induces relaxation - great weekend / overnight break. And don't miss the free meditation class - mind blowingly good!!!

I'll start with the positives, the hotel is very easy to find when following the directions on the website even though it's off the main road. The hotel itself is very nice, the rooms are large and comfy and the bathrobes and slippers are very soft and cosy. The food in the restaurant is top class, it's five star restaurant quality, the steak was melt in the mouth and the seabass was the a tastiest fish I've ever had. On the down side the place was cold, we asked three times (twice at reception and once in the restaurant) if someone could come and sort the heating out in our room because the radiator would not heat up, the water in the shower and bath was luke warm, no cold water at all needed when washing and it still wasn't warm enough. If you want a tv you need to ask in advance as they only have a few in the hotel. Maybe it's just not my style but all the silence and whispering isn't for me.

We stayed in Temple Spa in February and found both the food and the staff excellent. Our only complaint would have been the carpet in our room which was very poorly fitted. The SPA was excellent, but be careful to read the prices, they can range for around 60 euro for a simple massage to over a hundred euro for a stone massage.

Room Tip: Just ask to see your room before going into it.

Temple country retreat and Spa is a beautiful place to go for a relaxing few days. The hotel is clean and Oh so very quite. No Television in the rooms, relaxing lounges, good food and really nice staff.Iwould recommend for anyone who is looking to get away from it all in a nice peaceful surrounding.

Room Tip: Take part in the Relaxing classes and Tai Chi

My husband and I stayed in the Temple Spa on one of the deals. We had such a lovely relaxing time there and it definitely was better than my expectations, particularly at such an amazing price. The hotel itself was quite rustic, simple and very clean with lovely surrounding countryside. The staff were so friendly & helpful - particularly the girl on reception and one of the waiters who were both non-Irish people.

The spa area was lovely, I particularly liked the foot bath. We did the relaxation class which again was free. We had dinner & wine which were both really nice and afterwards relaxed in the lounge area beside open fire and played board games which was really different relaxing type of activity and fun :-) There are no televisions or anything like that to distract you and no noise - total relaxation. Don't go here if you want entertainment.

We took advantage of the free bike hire and did a 8 mile cycle from the spa - it was truly lovely and the highlight of our stay. Shame that the bikes are better taken care of and this great service better marketed.

One thing we both said would be good would be some nice background music in the whole place - feels slightly sterile without it.

All in all a lovely romantic relaxing stay - we'll be back!

Temple Spa I have found you at last!
Only home today & had to write review.
I cannot fault this place at all & I will be back again & again & again .. I hope!
Beautiful hotel, spa, room, location & scenery, staff & food - need I say more?!
The whole place is spotless so much so that I am shocked at the previous review as I dont think I have seen anything like the cleanliness!
The food was gorgeous, the staff very attentive & friendly especially the lovely friendly waitress & receptionist.
I came away from here sooooo relaxed & rejuvenated its like magic is in the air here!
I did not want to leave as I had to hurray home to a teenage Christmas party ..zzzz but am so looking forward to getting back there asap!
Thank you to all the staff & the owners for this beautiful place, I understand like so many hotels it is with nama now but it may turn itself around - I will spread the word dont worry!
2 Tips .. Candles on tables in the restaurant PLEASE & music needed in the spa & drawing room ... then it really is perfect!

Room Tip: All lovely from what I saw!
