A very strange setting in the old Iron Works that closed down in the 1980's, Strumms is a place to visit if you are anywhere in the area.
Friendly helpful staff and a menu in English should you require one. Having got used to German portions we opted not to have a starter and go straight to the main course. The Menu is a mixture of Traditional German and European dishes. I had the stuffed Potato Dumplings with Sauerkraut, while my partner had a Schnitzel, fried potato and salad. They also do several types of flammekuech which looked really good. They brew their own Beer, and the first glass of their Wheat Beer went down nicely while waiting for the Dumplings to arrive. These were accompanied by a glass of their Dunkel which again was really good.
Two main courses, 3 beers and 2 coffee's for around £30, great value! While searching for somewhere to eat we looked at their website and translated it into English. "Food without the Tra La La" was what came up, and they were 100% correct. Good venue, Good Staff, Good Food, Good Beer without any pretensions.
