It is difficult, you would think, to get burger and chips wrong. However, with super human effort, they managed to make the chips inedible and, despite a half-hearted apology, we were made to feel it was our fault for being the first customers of the day. Not a mistake we will repeat.

Over the Christmas period my family joined us from London. We booked a large table in the newly refebished resturant. It was very good from start to finish, both the excellent service of the staff and the quality of the food.
We also went back to eat and spend our New Years Eve at the Boot. The menu was fab, very well thought out and brilliantly executed. We could not fault our evening. The Chef came out to ensure we had enjoyed our food, which of course only got compliments.
I failed to say that due to the commitment of the staff and their preparation for the xmas period the atmosphere could not have been better. Well done The Boot.

my hubby and i visited the boot recommended from a list pf places to eat supplied by our hotel, from the minute we walked in we were welcomed by a big roaring fireand cosy atmosphere, the food was excellent and we had a great night, when the bill came it was so inexpensive we thought they had made a mistake, £45 for 3 drinks each gorgeous main course and scrumptous dessert. We will definately be going again on our next visit to that area. ( a message to the chef, we ate at La Becasse the following night, but we both preferred the boot.)10 out of 10.

This little village pub always has a good fire burning in the bar. A good mix of locals and people eating. Country food served well, good beers always on tap. Alterations taking place which seem to be going on for a long time. It will be great when it is complete.
