This year, Barbuda will host the First Caribbean Literary Festival. The goal of the festival is to rebuild the library that was lost in 1972 when a hurricane destroyed the only library on theisland. Also, the festival will be a venue to promote writing among adults and kids and for that propose renowned writers from Antigua and the Caribbean have been invited as speakers.

Jamaica Kincaid, Althea Prince, Maria-Elena John, L.A.Banks, Terri Mc Millan, Verma Willins are some of the writers that will participate in the event.

There will be panels, workshops and seminars conducted by the invited writers and researchers. There will also be a book exhibition with publishers and distributors from all over the world.
