Many of the small restaurants on Nevis look out over the Caribbean Sea. In fact, excellent views of the beach and the water are very frequently encountered in Nevis eating places, and almost all the hotels also have beautiful views of the central mountain, Nevis Peak. That being said, here are suggestions for some places which have the best cuisine, as well as fine views.

Golden Rock Hotel, high up at 1,000 feet, serves excellent lobster sandwiches for lunch, and the scenic vista, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean with views of the islands of Redonda, Monserrat and Antigua in the distance, is unequaled.  In the morning, sunrise is particularly lovely here, and there are often monkeys around.

There is also fine dining and fine views of St. Kitts at   Mount Nevis Hotel, Oualie Beach Hotel and Nisbet Plantation.  All these have outdoor tables and excellent cuisine.  Garden dining can be truly wonderful at The Hermitage.   Montpelier Plantation Inn offers dining out on the terrace with views of St. Kitts and the lights of Charlestown, as well as dining inside the Mill, which is an 18th century sugar mill with views of St. Kitts and other evening lights.  Enjoy lunch oceanside at Nisbet Plantation's 'Sea Breeze' restaurant and dinner at the Great House (circa 1778) where you can gaze out over the elegant Avenue of Palms which leads down to the beach and the water.

Slightly less sophisticated, but with excellent views and very good local food and seafood are Chevy's Calypso Bar & Grill, Shirley's, and Double Deuce.
