Zona Rosa is a great place to start discovering Mexico City. With 15 minutes walking you arrive at the Bosque of Chapultepec (Park) where there are many museum such as Museo National de Antropologia, Museo National de Historia, Museo de Arte Moderno, Castillo de Chapultepec where they also filmed Romeo+Juliet with Leo DiCaprio & Claire Danes (1996). The Park is huge and it's safety with a lot of locals walking with their family during the weekend. Monday is closed!   Another visit is to Centro Historico, take a taxi and go to Zocalo where you will find the Catedral Metropolitana , Museo Juarez, Museo del Templo Mayor and many more interesting museum and churches (iglesias) . From there you can walk back to Zona Rosa. It's a long way but if it's a sunny day you will enjoy it. Walking back to Zona Rosa go to Alameda Central where you will find the Palacio de Bellas Artes. Walk back on the Paseo de la Reforma to see Plaza de la Republica, Mon. a Cristobal Colon, El Angel (Mon. a la independencia). If you have a car you should go to visit the zona arqueologica de Teotihuacan (with pyramids). It's a very interesting place.
